Abstract: A process for making a candy bar that includes a first substance and a second substance wherein the second substance is either injected into the first substance or coated over the first substance. The candy bar includes a licorice material that is manufactured from a syrup concoction that includes a coconut oil of a defined percentage. Subsequent to the completion of the manufacturing of the first substance, the candy bar is finished to create one of two embodiments. A second substance, chocolate, is injected into the first substance to create the first embodiment. To create the second embodiment of the candy bar, the second substance, chocolate, is coated over the first substance. The second substance, chocolate, is manufactured to have a different melting point for each of the two aforementioned embodiments.

The server system authenticates a client and receives a query initiated by the client. The query indicates a geo-location or a geo-region of interest. The server system references the database to retrieve applicable publication information based on and responsive to the query for the geo-location or geo-region of interest. The server system responds to the query by initiating a response to the client containing response information that includes or is based on the retrieved publications for the geo-location or geo-region of interest.

Abstract: In an electrical machine which has unidirectional excitation applied to its windings, the mean values of voltage and current can be computed from the instantaneous phase voltage and current by the use of, for example, low-pass filters (in either the analogue or digital domain). The value of winding resistance can then be calculated by dividing the mean voltage by the mean current. This avoids the cost, fragility and potential inaccuracy of conventional temperature sensors, and provides the controller with an ongoing estimate of winding temperature.

Abstract: To overcome problems with vergence, a binocular head mounted display (HMD) is used in a simulator in which an out-the-window scene is displayed in real time on a screen arrangement. Imagery for the left and right eyes of the HMD is derived by generating a starting HMD image for a Cyclops viewpoint between the user's eves, and then rendering respective views for each eve from the position of the eye in a virtual 3D model of the screen arrangement, wherein the starting HMD image is frustum projected against the screen arrangement of the 3D model.

Abstract: A method and a system are presented in which federated domains interact within a federated environment. Domains within a federation can initiate federated single-sign-on operations for a user at other federated domains. A point-of-contact server within a domain relies upon a trust proxy within the domain to manage trust relationships between the domain and the federation. Trust proxies interpret assertions from other federated domains as necessary. Trust proxies may have a trust relationship with one or more trust brokers, and a trust proxy may rely upon a trust broker for assistance in interpreting assertions. When a user is provisioned at a particular federated domain, the federated domain can provision the user to other federated domains within the federated environment. A provision operation may include creating or deleting an account for a user, pushing updated user account information including attributes, and requesting updates on account information including attributes.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of limiting the frequency of floods within a data network, the floods arising as a data frame is routed to an unknown destination, the method comprising the steps of: receiving on an ingress port a data frame intended for a destination station and containing a MAC address of that station; checking the destination MAC address with the contents of a MAC table; and thereby determining whether the data frame is to be routed, discarded or flooded to all ports except the ingress port; and respectively routing, discarding or flooding the data frame to all ports except the ingress port.

Abstract: The invention relates to orthogonal pairs of tRNAs and aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase that can incorporate unnatural amino acid into proteins produced in eubacterial host cells such as E. coli, or in a eukaryotic host such as a yeast cell. The invention provides, for example but not limited to, novel orthogonal synthetases, methods for identifying and making the novel synthetases, methods for producing proteins containing unnatural amino acids, and translation systems.

Abstract: A data processing system comprises a first clock domain having a first clock rate, a second clock domain having a second clock rate, and a data path operable to transfer data items from the first clock domain to the second clock domain. The data path comprises a buffer having an input for receiving data items from the first clock domain, and an output port for transmitting data items to the second clock domain in a first-in first-out manner. The buffer has a first pointer for indication of a current first location of the buffer, and a second pointer for indication of a current second location of the buffer. The system further includes a read controller operable to define a read pattern for the buffer, to control output from the buffer in dependence upon such a read pattern, and to adjust such a read pattern in dependence upon a value of such a first pointer for the buffer.

Abstract: A self-locating mounting apparatus for holding objects such as sensors at specific positions on a subject's head includes a central mount constituted by a plurality of inextensible elements adapted to fit over the top of a subject's head. In addition, the mounting apparatus includes an adjustable circumferential band adapted to circle the subject's head and connect the central mount to inextensible side elements via sliding joints. A plurality of biasing elements provide a force for biasing sensor mounting units on the mounting apparatus against a subject's head, allowing for long-term sensing while minimizing interference forces on the mounting units. Advantageously, the mounting apparatus holds sensors within approximately 5 mm of their desired measurement positions over a range of subject head sizes.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for review of a trainee being trained in simulation. The system has a computerized simulator displaying to the trainee a real-time out-the-window (OTW) scene of video made up of a series of images each rendered in real-time from stored scene data. A review system stores or displays a view of the OTW scene video as seen from a time-variable detected viewpoint of the trainee. Each frame of this video is independently rendered in a single pass from the scene data using a projection matrix that is derived from a detected eyepoint and line of sight of the trainee. A HUD display with imagery superimposed on the OTW view may advantageously combined with the perspective-distorted imagery of the review system. The video displayed or stored by the review system accurately records or displays the OTW scene as seen by the trainee.

Communications with the first device are established by emulating functions of a second device. A request to pass the data to the first device is received.
