  • Patent number: 11376096
Abstract: A mediated-reality system for surgical applications incorporates pre-operative images and real-time captured images of a surgical site into a visualization presented on a head-mounted display worn by a surgeon during a surgical procedure. The mediated-reality system tracks the surgeon's head position and generates real-time images of the surgical site from a virtual camera perspective corresponding to the surgeon's head position to mimic the natural viewpoint of the surgeon. The mediated-reality system furthermore aligns the pre-operative images with the real-time images from the virtual camera perspective and presents a mediated-reality visualization of the surgical site with the aligned pre-operative three-dimensional images or a selected portion thereof overlaid on the real-time images representing the virtual camera perspective.

  • Publication number: 20220201803
Abstract: A thin film heater is provided containing conductive nanofiller particles and a base material, wherein the conductive nanofiller particles are uniformly distributed within the base material and is soluble in water. When introduced to electric current, the thin film heater raises in temperature and lowers in resistance. A method of manufacturing a thin film heater is also provided, including the steps of mixing the conductive nanofiller particles with water to form a precursor, mixing the precursor with a base material, and applying the mixture to a substrate. Once the thin film heater cures on the substrate, the thin film heater will resistively heat the substrate when introduced to electric current.

  • Publication number: 20220199229
Abstract: This method and system supplements medical ultrasound imaging devices with a user installable touchscreen monitor and processor that delivers additional functionality to the device. This addition allows for multiple machine learning models working in sequence to provide real-time and near real-time new information to the user. This new information is being produced by multiple machine learning models that are installed on the device and selected by the user using the touch screen to identify features, perform computer aided diagnostics, automatic image calibration, automatically highlight regions of interest, feature highlighting, automatic annotation of images and report generation. The data gathered from the image processing and user inputs are then converted to an industry standard data format. This new information is combined into a report for user review and transferred to the hospital picture archive and communication system, the electronic health record and the hospital billing system.

  • Patent number: 11358601
Abstract: Various implementations described herein generate training instances that each include corresponding training instance input that is based on corresponding sensor data of a corresponding autonomous vehicle, and that include corresponding training instance output that is based on corresponding sensor data of a corresponding additional vehicle, where the corresponding additional vehicle is captured at least in part by the corresponding sensor data of the corresponding autonomous vehicle. Various implementations train a machine learning model based on such training instances. Once trained, the machine learning model can enable processing, using the machine learning model, of sensor data from a given autonomous vehicle to predict one or more properties of a given additional vehicle that is captured at least in part by the sensor data.

  • Publication number: 20220157011
Abstract: A method assigns weights to physical imager pixels in order to generate photorealistic images for virtual perspectives in real-time. The imagers are arranged in three-dimensional space such that they sparsely sample the light field within a scene of interest. This scene is defined by the overlapping fields of view of all the imagers or for subsets of imagers. The weights assigned to imager pixels are calculated based on the relative poses of the virtual perspective and physical imagers, properties of the scene geometry, and error associated with the measurement of geometry. This method is particularly useful for accurately rendering numerous synthesized perspectives within a digitized scene in real-time in order to create immersive, three-dimensional experiences for applications such as performing surgery, infrastructure inspection, or remote collaboration.

  • Patent number: 11317264
Abstract: An electronic material sensor for a container, such as a dispenser for paper or liquid materials, or a waste receptacle, in a facility such as a restroom. The material sensor may be adapted to fit inside an existing material dispenser. The material sensor provides wireless data transmission of the level of liquid or paper material in the container. A traffic sensor senses presence of people in the facility. An electronic beacon assigned to a user, such as a cleaning staff, tracks location of the user in the facility. In a system employing one or more sensors, including material sensors, traffic sensors, and beacons, the sensors send real-time data to a base station running a software application, to give details about levels of the materials and facility usage, and the location of cleaning staff.
