Patent number: 11980257Abstract: A buckle assembly that utilizes two molded plastic buckle constructs. The two buckle constructs are separate and distinct but are identical in size and configuration. Each of the buckle constructs has a base and two loop structures that extend as parallel cantilevers from the base. On each buckle construct, there is a gap space disposed between the loop structures. The gap space is sized to receive the loop structure from a second identical buckle construct. When two buckle constructs are brought together, the loop structures intermesh and interlock, therein mechanically joining the two buckle constructs together. A locking tab is provided in one of the loop structures on each buckle construct. The locking tab can be manually depressed to release the mechanical interconnection between the buckle constructs. The buckle constructs can then be easily separated.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2022Date of Patent: May 14, 2024Assignee: GOLIATH IP STICHTINGInventors: Ryan Arthur Wolfinbarger, James Vangel Balam

Publication number: 20240151500Abstract: A method of forming ballistic glass includes heat forming a polycarbonate panel while the polycarbonate panel is sandwiched between a non-planar glass panel and a mold panel such that the polycarbonate panel is formed to a geometry of the glass panel. The polycarbonate panel is positioned adjacent the glass panel such that a volume of space is defined therebetween, and the volume of space is filled with a flowable resin. The resin is cured to form an intermediate polymer layer between the polycarbonate panel and the glass panel. Ballistic glass may be formed using such methods. Vehicles may include such ballistic glass.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 3, 2023Publication date: May 9, 2024Inventors: Joshua Arthur Lyon, James Eldon Lytle

Patent number: 11976637Abstract: A novel renewable energy system where ambient temperatures at the surface or lower altitudes evaporate an enclosed material and create a buoyant force on the system. The buoyant system ascends and produces power. At high altitudes, the lower ambient temperature condenses the material, removing the buoyant force. The system descends to ground level, and begins the evaporation phase, starting the cycle over again.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2022Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Inventor: James Arthur Knox

Patent number: 11919803Abstract: One or more aspects of the disclosure pertain to an article including a film disposed on a glass substrate, which may be strengthened, where the interface between the film and the glass substrate is modified, such that the article has an improved average flexural strength, and the film retains key functional properties for its application. Some key functional properties of the film include optical, electrical and/or mechanical properties. The bridging of a crack from one of the film or the glass substrate into the other of the film or the glass substrate can be suppressed by inserting a nanoporous crack mitigating layer between the glass substrate and the film.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2022Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: Corning IncorporatedInventors: Heather Bossard Decker, Shandon Dee Hart, Guangli Hu, James Joseph Price, Paul Arthur Sachenik

Publication number: 20240060030Abstract: Embodiments described herein generally provide for expanding cells in a cell expansion system. The cells may be grown in a bioreactor, and the cells may be activated by an activator (e.g., a soluble activator complex). Nutrient and gas exchange capabilities of a closed, automated cell expansion system may allow cells to be seeded at reduced cell seeding densities, for example. Parameters of the cell growth environment may be manipulated to load the cells into a particular position in the bioreactor for the efficient exchange of nutrients and gases. System parameters may be adjusted to shear any cell colonies that may form during the expansion phase. Metabolic concentrations may be controlled to improve cell growth and viability. Cell residence in the bioreactor may be controlled. In embodiments, the cells may include T cells. In further embodiments, the cells may include T cell subpopulations, including regulatory T cells (Tregs), for example.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 11, 2023Publication date: February 22, 2024Inventors: Dalip SETHI, James ARTHUR, David Alan HANNA, Daniel CLEMENT, Brian J. Patent number: 11879114Abstract: Natural green, environmentally friendly solid soap compositions and methods of manufacturing and using the same are provided with easy dispersal in water and self thickening to produce liquid soaps. The natural soap compositions contain potassium fatty acid carboxylates and preferably potassium chloride but may alternately contain potassium bromide or potassium iodide. There is a need for natural, green, environmentally friendly soaps as well as eco green packaging. Recent systems have managed eco packaging but continue to rely on synthetic non-natural fossil fuel based soaps. The inventive natural solid soaps do not require plastic or similar packaging for liquids and can be shipped as a solid bar, granules, powder, etc. and diluted very easily by the end user. Preferably the soaps are small bars that easily fit into a dispenser bottle offering versatility in concentration, lather, and thickness.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2023Date of Patent: January 23, 2024Inventor: James Arthur McDonell

Publication number: 20230325881Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for reducing communications between servers and a mobile device and providing enhanced security and privacy to wireless beacon services. This can involve a broadcast device transmitting a beacon transmission using a short range wireless radio, such a Bluetooth or WiFi, and including a MAC address, a first unique identifier, and a beacon service identifier. The mobile device then selects one or more unique identifiers from received beacon transmissions, by filtering (that is, selecting) those beacon transmissions which include the beacon service identifier. The wireless device then takes further action, if the first unique identifier is present among the selected one or more unique identifiers, using stored information from the server. The stored information may be delivered to the wireless device in response to the wireless device sending the first unique identifier to a server, or the stored information may have been previously downloaded.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 1, 2023Publication date: October 12, 2023Inventors: James A. The cable jacket has a second inner and a second outer surface defining a first thickness. A skin layer is disposed around the cable jacket. The skin layer has a third inner and a third outer surface defining a second thickness that is 100 ?m or less. The cable jacket material is different from the skin layer material, and the third outer surface defines the outermost surface of the optical fiber cable. Access sections made of the second material extend from the skin layer into the first thickness of the cable jacket.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2021Date of Patent: September 12, 2023Assignee: CORNING RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CORPORATIONInventors: George Cornelius Abernathy, James Arthur Register, III
