  • Patent number: 8226946
Abstract: The efficacy of light activated therapy treatment is enhanced by stimulating the immune system of the patient substantially above a normal level. Abnormal tissue that is destroyed by the light activated therapy releases factors that stimulate the immune system, leading to systemic reductions in abnormal tissue (i.e., reduction beyond the region treated using light). By further stimulating the immune system using an anti-CTLA-4 antibody, the systemic destruction of abnormal tissue is enhanced.

  • Publication number: 20120173713
Abstract: Techniques for monitoring system resources such that a resource-related problem can be identified at a point in time when it is still possible to initiate a set of recovery actions for remedying the problem without disrupting services provided by the system. Various system resources may be monitored including but not limited to system memory (e.g., RAM), one or more processors, non-volatile memory (e.g., Compact Flash usage), and the like.

  • Publication number: 20120042465
Abstract: A device for holding and manipulating compressible cleaning implements is disclosed wherein the cleaning implements may be made from a compressible material and may have a compressible portion. The device may include a handle. A blade may be attached to the handle. An outer blade edge may surround the blade. An opening through the blade may be defined by an inner blade edge. A channel may pass through the blade and may extend from the inner blade edge to the outer blade edge, and may be defined by a first channel edge and a second channel edge. The compressible portion of the cleaning implement may be passed through the channel into the opening and may be held in the opening by engagement with the inner blade edge. Each of the first and second channel edges may respectively define first and second circumferentially directed points configured to poke into the compressible material.

  • Patent number: 7951742
Abstract: A gas stream containing nitrous oxide and ammonia is contacted with a catalyst composition containing a zeolite. N2O is reduced to N2 and H2O at low temperatures in a highly efficient manner. Ammonia-mediated reduction of nitrous oxide can be effectuated from gas streams having N2O concentrations as low as 1%. The gas stream may also contact a catalytic composition selective for the reduction of NOx. In this way, N2O and NOx treatment may be effectuated in a single process stream.

  • Publication number: 20110092228
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for displaying the location of a cellular phone caller. In the present method, a caller's cellular phone transmits a short message preset by a cellular base station to the base station through an Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) function by using a cellular phone and selects to start or stop a function for informing the location of a caller to a phone answerer. When a phone call is made and the location informing function is stopped, the base station transmits no caller location information to an answerer's cellular phone. If the location informing function is activated, the base station uses a positioning technology to calculate position coordinates of the caller.

  • Publication number: 20110041279
Abstract: A device for holding and manipulating compressible cleaning implements. The device comprises a handle and a blade attached to the handle. The blade is provided with an opening and a channel communicating with the opening and with the outer edge of the blade. The inner end of the channel is narrower than the diameter of the opening so that compressible cleaning implements inserted into the opening through the channel cannot migrate out of the opening during use. The channel is positioned in the portion of the blade that is proximal to the handle.

  • Patent number: 7778325
Abstract: An optical drive control chip capable of sending command messages in advance and the transmission method of the optical drive control chip are described. The method includes at least the following steps. First, a MPEG module sends a command message to a decoder module. After receiving the command message, the decoder module reads an amount of data and stores it in a memory, so that the data is accessible to the MPEG module. After the data is stored in the memory, the decoder module sends an acknowledgement message to the MPEG module. Without receiving the acknowledgement message, the MPEG module directly sends the next command message to the decoder module. The MPEG module reads the data stored in the memory.
