  • Publication number: 20070145060
Abstract: A disposable child's drinking cup has a lid with a drinking spout defining multiple open holes sized to resist leakage in the absence of suction, such as by the development of surface tension at the holes, and to allow flow when suction is applied. The holes are formed during molding of the lid. An inner contour of a groove of the lid and an outer contour of the cup body rim are selected to provide a slight snap fit of the lid onto the cup body, to provide a secure seal.

  • Patent number: 7053928
Abstract: A system (100) for combining multi-spectral images of a scene (102) is disclosed. The system (100) is compatible with a viewing system (104) for viewing the scene (102) in a first spectral range. The viewing system (104) has an objective lens (110), an image intensifier (112) and viewing optics (114). There is a detector (128) for viewing the scene (102) in a second spectral band. The detector (128) has an image output (129) representative of the viewed scene. A display (132) for receiving and displaying the image output is provided. There is a collimator (134) for receiving and projecting the displayed image. A beam mixer (118) is provided for receiving both the viewed scene in the first spectral band and the displayed image and conveying the combined images to the viewing system (104) to construct the combined multi-spectral images of the scene. The system may also be used stand-alone without the viewing system (104).

  • Publication number: 20060011421
Abstract: An automatically engageable and releasable brake apparatus adaptable to be attached to a wheelchair is provided, including a connection mechanism adapted to be positioned on a rear frame portion of the wheelchair frame, a seat actuation member adapted to be positioned on the wheelchair seat, a brake actuating member coupled to the connection mechanism and in fluid communication with the seat actuation member defining a closed fluid system therewith, and a brake member coupled to the brake actuating member and adapted to contact a ground surface on which the wheelchair is located. Occupational ingress into the wheelchair causes fluid to flow from the seat actuation member to the brake actuating member, which causes the brake member to move from a first position in substantial contact with the ground surface on which the wheelchair is located to a second position spaced a distance above the ground surface.

  • Publication number: 20050098542
Abstract: A system for butt welding expansion joint rails with an electroslag welding system. The electroslag welding system for butt welding the expansion joint rails comprises a control system. The method for butt welding the two expansion joint rails with the electroslag welding system comprises defining a weld cavity with a first expansion joint rail, a second expansion joint rail, a plurality of gland shoes, and a pair of butt shoes. The electroslag welding system can also be adapted to weld a expansion joint rail to a support beam. The method for welding the expansion joint rail to the support beam comprising placing the expansion joint rail on a horizontal axis, placing the support beam on a vertical axis and clamping a modular component system to the expansion joint rail.

  • Publication number: 20040172551
Abstract: A process of screening one or more software files to determine any that are recognized to have a matching hash signature with a file contained in a database of files known to be Virus, Trojan, Worm, or otherwise potentially malicious or suspicious which then can be safely blocked, quarantined and/or deleted. This is accomplished through a method and apparatus running on a firewall, network device, mail server, server, personal computer, PDA, cell phone or wireless device to compare the hash signature of each incoming software file against a regularly updated database of known infected file hash signatures. One or more users can be alerted when an infected file is identified. If quarantined the file is safely stored until virus software is updated properly with later developed virus definitions file(s), which are then used to eradicate or clean the infected file(s) or computer systems.

  • Publication number: 20040133548
Abstract: This invention uses file hash signatures, including but not limited to those generated from MD5, MD2, SHA-1, SHA-224, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512 and FIPS 180-2 files, and various file comparison and matching technologies in a real time or near real time solution to determine if digital content has been stolen or otherwise illegally, opened, transferred, viewed, played or copied. Once digital content has been analyzed (match or no match) one or more follow-on actions can be taken with respect to the content based on preferences established by the owner/authorized agent of the digital content. These include blocking the copy or playback process, preventing transferring of files over a network or between systems, notification to one or more users about the theft of illegal use and/or instruction(s) to the unauthorized user. Digital content includes but is not limited to digital audio, digital picture and video, and digital documentation.

  • Patent number: 6122099
Abstract: A method of achieving a focusing adjustment of an optical assembly, and of releasably locking this focusing adjustment, is described. A night vision weapon sight (10) which implements this method includes an objective lens assembly (14), an eyepiece lens (18), and an image intensifier tube (20) receiving light via the objective lens in order to provide an image via the eyepiece lens. The objective lens assembly includes a base portion (32) into which a lens housing (34) is threadably received. The threaded engagement of the base portion and lens housing is locked by a collet-like array of radially flexible fingers (42) each having a conical outer surface. A locking collar (44) having a conically tapering inner surface threadably engages the lens housing (34) and engages the collet fingers (42). Locking of the locking collar (44) is ensured by threaded engagement of a locking ring (54) with the locking collar (44) such that the prevailing torque tightens both of a pair of threaded engagements of opposite hand.
