  • Patent number: 8146218
Abstract: Method and apparatus for continuously forming a one-piece expanded metal gutter cover having at least one solid edge. The method involves feeding a continuous web of solid metal along a continuous path, expanding the continuous web as it is fed along the continuous path, profiling a solid edge margin of the web as it is fed along the continuous path, and cutting the continuous web transversely of the web at intervals along the web to form separate gutter covers.

  • Patent number: 7891142
Abstract: A gutter protection system includes a rear margin formed to avoid contact with a fastener securing a gutter to the structure and to better inhibit collapse of the protection system.

  • Patent number: 7650720
Abstract: A gutter protection system is adapted for covering a gutter and preventing debris from falling into the gutter. The gutter protection system comprises an elongate sheet metal member or panel adapted to engage a portion of the gutter and to cover the gutter. The sheet metal member has a longitudinal axis and a generally smooth top surface interrupted by a plurality of canals and perforations formed therein. Each canal extends down and away from the smooth top surface. The canals are formed from the material of the sheet metal member, each canal formed so that water entering the canal exits through one of the perforations and flows into the gutter below. The canals enable water to move laterally within the canal, thereby increasing the water volume handled by the system without necessarily increasing the number of holes or perforations.

  • Publication number: 20080134587
Abstract: A gutter protection system for covering a gutter of a structure and for preventing debris from falling into the gutter. The gutter includes a gutter hanger extending from a front of the gutter to a rear of the gutter and having a rear bend. The gutter protection system includes an elongate member sized and shaped to engage the gutter hanger. The elongate member includes a rear margin having a compound bend terminating in an end that is formed to engage the rear bend of the hanger. Embodiments of the system will work on standard gutters without modification of the gutter or gutter hanger.

  • Patent number: 4907381
Abstract: A gutter screen adapted for covering a gutter and preventing leaves and the like from falling into the gutter. The gutter has front, back and bottom walls and a flange projecting rearwardly from the front wall of the gutter and spaced above the bottom wall of the gutter. The gutter screen comprises a flexible resilient screen member having an integral front edge margin bent to form a channel adapted for receiving the gutter flange therein, and a rear edge margin adapted for engaging a gutter hanger on the rear wall of the gutter. The screen member is adapted to be resiliently bent to an arcuate configuration in which the front edge margin and rear edge margin of the screen member are adapted for pressure engagement with the gutter and gutter hanger thereby securely to maintain the gutter screen on the gutter.
