    Abstract: A system for measuring oil circulation ratio in a vapor-compression refrigeration system (VCRS) is provided. The system may include an oil separator configured to receive the refrigerant and oil flow from the low-pressure line of the VCRS and output a oil flow and a refrigerant flow. The system may further include an oil collector configured to receive the separated oil flow provided by the oil separator. A valve may control an oil flow from the oil collector to the low-pressure line. A level sensor may measure oil level in the oil collector. The system may close, in response to the oil being at or less than a first level, the valve to collect oil in the oil collector. The system may open, in response to the oil being at or greater than a second level, the valve to release oil from the oil collector to the low-pressure line.

    Abstract: A low-profile air purifier comprises a housing that includes a pair of plates opposing one another, an intake opening and an output opening; a toroidal fan rotatably mounted in the housing between the plates, an axis of the toroidal fan being essentially perpendicular to the plates; a motor disposed in a central opening of the toroidal fan for rotating the toroidal fan; and a filter mounted to the housing for filtering air flowing through the housing. The present patent application also discloses a modular wall section that comprises an internal frame; an air purifier mounted within the internal frame; and a panel mounted in the internal frame for movement between an open position for accessing the air purifier and a closed position concealing the air purifier. The air purifier of the modular wall section may have similar configuration as the above discussed low-profile air purifier.

    Abstract: A technique for powering gate drivers in a half-bridge configuration uses a single external power supply to power each gate driver. A single on-chip regulator regulates the positive turn-on voltage for each switch. The regulator overhead, is also used as the negative voltage for turn-off, thus transferring the low-frequency variation of the external power supply to the negative turn-off voltage. Accordingly, a single on-chip regulator generates both the positive turn-on voltage and the negative turn-off voltage. In at least one embodiment, reuse of the switch turn-off current further reduces on-chip power dissipation. The on-chip regulator's output filter capacitor discharges during turn-on of the external power switching device. During turn-off, the current that discharges the switch gate capacitance recharges the regulator filter capacitor.

The method includes providing a timer value at an end of a phase of the multi-phase transition and determining whether the signal is in a target signal range of the phase based on the timer value at the end of the phase, a predetermined value defining the target signal range of the phase, and a predetermined time limit for the phase. A current through the output node may be provided using the multiple set points, and a voltage on the output node may have the multi-phase transition.

Concurrent execution of the replicas of the task is initiated using the selected computing resources. Input data for the concurrent execution does not vary from one of the replicas to another of the replicas, and at least a portion of the replicas produce individual results for the input data. Based (at least in part) on a policy, an individual result of one or more of the replicas is selected as a final result of the task.
