  • Publication number: 20180053212
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method including receiving advertisements from a remote advertising content provider and pre-loading the advertisements at a communication device. An advertisement is selected for presentation at a presentation device, based on a user's advertising viewing history, the duration of the advertisement, the device location, the device environment, the user's demographic profile, or the user's activities. The presentation device presents the advertisement responsive to the trigger message. The effectiveness of the advertisement is determined, and the advertisement viewing history is updated; the advertisement is selected based in part on the effectiveness of a past presentation of the advertisement. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9713102
Abstract: A device is disclosed for determining a first geographical location of a customer premise, a second geographical location of a radio frequency transmitter and a third geographical location of network access equipment proximal to the customer premises, wherein the network access equipment provides access to media signals by way of a broadband communications link. The first, second and third geographical locations are mapped, and a distance between the second geographical location and one of the first geographical location or the third geographical location is determined. The distance is compared to a threshold distance based on a signal transmission power of the radio frequency transmitter, and a mitigation strategy is determined to limit interference of the radio frequency transmitter on the media signals provided to the first geographical location when the distance is less than the threshold distance.

  • Publication number: 20170195396
Abstract: A system for providing efficient delivery of media content to the masses is disclosed. In particular, the system may include receiving requests for content from a plurality of user devices. The system may then include synchronizing fulfillment timeframes for delivering the content based on a preset time interval. In response to the requests, the system may deliver the content, such as via a satellite network, to a storage device, such as, but not limited to, a digital video recorder, a video-ready-access device equipped with a satellite receiver and antenna, a digital subscriber line access multiplexer equipped with a satellite received and antenna, or any combination thereof, based on the preset time interval. • Patent number: 9648393
Abstract: A method in a server for providing various Internet Protocol television signal qualities involves an IPTV signal having a first signal quality that is transmitted over a first network connection to a first device. A request to receive the IPTV signal over a second network connection at a second device with the IPTV signal having a second signal quality is received. A determination is made that the second network connection has sufficient bandwidth to transmit the IPTV signal at the second signal quality, and that the second device is capable of receiving IPTV signal. The transmission of the IPTV signal over the first network connection to the first device is ended. An endpoint for the transmission of the IPTV signal to the first device is determined. The IPTV signal is transmitted over the second network connection to the second device at the second signal quality beginning at the determined endpoint.

  • Publication number: 20170104845
Abstract: A system for providing cross-services application service, device, and network content delivery management is disclosed. In particular, the system may allow devices and application services supported by multiple network services to leverage the strengths of such network services to ensure that content delivery is efficiently accomplished. The system may enable a device or application service to be associated with a management domain. Then, the management domain may subscribe the device or application service with one or more underlying supporting networks of the management domain. The associating and subscribing may be performed for the management domain by an orchestrator or by a management domain authority. The management domain authority may include a predictive, machine-learning element that drives access to content on behalf of the management domain authority through its devices and services to which they are subscribed.

  • Patent number: 9124942
Abstract: A method is disclosed for determining a mitigation strategy to limit a potential source of interference on an Internet Protocol television (IPTV) system. A new user installation request is received at a server in the IPTV system. A first geographical location of a customer premises associated with the new user installation request is received. A second geographical location of an amplitude modulation broadcasting facility is received. A first distance between the first geographical location and the second geographical location is determined. A first signal transmission power rating for the amplitude modulation broadcasting facility is retrieved from a database. A first mitigation strategy causing filters to filter an IPTV signal according to a frequency range associated with the amplitude modulation broadcasting facility to limit a first interference on the IPTV signal provided to the first geographical location when the first distance is less than the first threshold distance is determined.
