  • Publication number: 20070137516
Abstract: The present invention provides a sideframe for use in a traditional three piece railway fright car truck comprising a pair of laterally spaced sideframes supporting a bolster extending between the sideframes. Each sideframe comprises an elongated top compression member, two diagonal compression members extending generally downwardly at acute angles from near the ends of the top compression member, and a bottom member joining the other ends of the diagonal tension members. Two column members also extend vertically between the bottom member and the top compression member. Pads with fastener openings are provided on the top surface of the top compression member to assist in mounting brackets to the sideframe.

  • Publication number: 20070038257
Abstract: Apparatus for assessing the electrical properties of patient-electrode interfaces has a carrier signal source injecting two carrier signals comprising an AC signal with a DC offset to the electrodes. The carrier signals are out of phase. The outputs from the electrodes are formed into electrocardiographic lead signals in a pre-amplifier circuit. Signal processing circuit is coupled to the pre-amplifier circuit and provides a first signal comprising the AC carrier signal contained in an ECG lead signal and a second signal containing a DC offset signal. The first and second signals are provided to a microprocessor to obtain an output indicative of the electrical properties of electrode interfaces for the ECG lead signal.

  • Patent number: 7159789
Abstract: A thermostat having a thermostat housing and a rotatable selector disposed on the thermostat housing. The rotatable selector adapted to have a range of rotatable positions, where a desired parameter value is identified by the position of the rotatable selector along the range of rotatable positions. The rotatable selector rotates about a rotation axis. A non-rotating member or element, which may at least partially overlap the rotatable selector, may be fixed relative to the thermostat housing via one or more support member(s). The one or more support member(s) may be laterally displaced relative to the rotation axis of the rotatable selector. The non-rotatable member or element may include, for example, a display, a button, an indicator light, a noise making device, a logo, a temperature indicator, and/or any other suitable device or component, as desired.

  • Publication number: 20060253884
Abstract: Methods and systems provide clickstream captures at a remote component, such as a video control system of a television network, by receiving user commands generated by the viewer that are sent to the remote component concurrently relative to when they are generated by the viewer. The commands are captured and then information related to these commands is stored remotely from the premises of the viewer. Additionally, the user commands may be executed remotely such as at a video control system of a television network or alternatively may be executed at the premises of the viewer such as within a set top box. Information related to these user commands continues to be stored remotely from the premises of the viewer after the user commands have been executed such that the information related to these user commands can be processed as necessary and used for various purposes.

  • Publication number: 20060123015
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a componentized remote user interface are disclosed. Such user interfaces are particularly suitable for use in remote configuration of a device, such as a headless device, that is in network communication with a computer. The user interface may be a web page rendered from an HTML file that defines the web page and a separate file that includes script for associating a value with a variable parameter. The HTML file may include a reference to the variable parameter and incorporate the other file therein by reference. When the web page is rendered, the device parses the HTML file to identify the file incorporated therein by reference and substitutes the parameter value provided in the file for the variable included in the HTML file. Thus, the rendered web page may include the actual value of the parameter, and the HTML file need not have the actual value hard-coded therein.

  • Publication number: 20060117132
Abstract: Systems and methods for self-configuration and automatic disk balancing of network attached storage devices are disclosed. Methods are disclosed for providing automatic disk balancing that uses a self-configuring set of network storage devices. A self-configuring set of network storage devices enables a user to merely plug in a new storage device; the network self-configures to provide additional storage. The user, as well as applications available on the client computer, can then logically access data stored on any of a plurality of such devices as if the data were stored on a single selected one of the devices.

  • Publication number: 20060075456
Abstract: Methods and systems provide clickstream captures at both local and remote components by receiving user commands generated by the viewer locally where at least some of those commands are then sent to the remote component concurrently relative to when they are generated by the viewer. Commands may be captured and stored locally while the commands that are sent to the remote component are captured and then stored remotely from the premises of the viewer. Additionally, the user commands may be executed locally such as at a viewer appliance and/or remotely such as at a video control system of a television network. Information related to these user commands continues to be stored locally and/or remotely from the premises of the viewer after the user commands have been executed. Thus, the information related to these user commands can be processed as necessary and used for various purposes.

  • Publication number: 20060036630
Abstract: A system and process is presented that identifies nearby objects and/or points in relation to a base object or point. An object or point is nearby if it resides within a prescribed area around the base point. The identification is based on information accessed from a database of geometric data. The identification of nearby neighbors begins by dividing the geographic system defined by said geometric data into a plurality of zones. The zone in which each object or point resides and the zones intersected by the prescribed area are determined. The nearby objects and/or points of interest are then identified by initially considering only those that are identified as residing in the zones intersected by the prescribed area. The search for nearby neighbors can be further refined by limiting the objects and/or points considered to those with locations within the lateral extent and/or within the height of the prescribed area.

  • Patent number: 6989769
Abstract: A method and system is utilized to produce an output corresponding to a safety level, particularly in relation to an activity on a moving body. The method involving producing an output corresponding to the ability to perform an operation within a safe limit on a moving vessel. The method comprising the steps of acquiring real time data from instrumentation on the vessel indicative of first and second elements of vessel motion relevant to the safety of the operation. Processing the data relating to each element of motion. Scaling the data relating to each element to a common scale to provide first and second values relating to the respective elements of vessel motion. • Publication number: 20050145187
Abstract: A livestock asset management system utilizing an electronic ear tag 14 capable of operating on an open range, corral, or feedlot. The electronic ear tag 14 is capable of reading a radio frequency identification device (RFID) 24, storing that data in a processing unit in the ear tag 36, and then transmitting data to a satellite 12, which relays the information of an individual animal to a hub server 16 that appends a data record and makes that record available over a network 10 for display on a network access device such as a computer 18. An individual or group of animal records can be appended manually or semi-automatically by the livestock owner using a network interface device such as a personal computer 18. With automatic notification to livestock owner if data from the ear tag is outside a pre-defined limit 70 along with graphical displays 60 of same information.
