  • Publication number: 20170163750
Abstract: A method and apparatus for modifying a behavior of a user are disclosed. For example, the method determines a baseline of a behavior to be modified for a user, the baseline comprising at least one triggering event that is established for the behavior to be modified and at least one action to be taken when the at least one triggering event is detected, detects the at least one triggering event that is established for the behavior to be modified for the user, identifies the at least one action to be performed when the at least one triggering event is detected, and performs the at least action that is identified.

  • Publication number: 20170161705
Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for point-of-sale customization service. A processor executing a point-of-sale customization service can receive a unique identifier associated with a user device detected in a proximity of a computing device. The processor can query preferences stored in a data store using the unique identifier and identify point-of-sale preferences associated with the user device based upon the querying. The processor can transmit the point-of-sale preferences to the computing device to apply to a transaction.

  • Publication number: 20170132403
Abstract: Methods, systems, and products authenticate users for access to devices, applications, and services. Skills of a user are learned over time, such that an electronic model of random subject matter may be generated. The user is prompted to interpret the random subject matter, such as with an electronic drawing. The user's interpretation is then compared to the electronic model of the random subject matter. If the user's interpretation matches the electronic model, the user may be authenticated.

  • Publication number: 20170132254
Abstract: Methods, systems, and products help users recall memories and search for content of those memories. When a user cannot recall a memory, the user is prompted with questions to help recall the memory. As the user answers the questions, a virtual recollection of the memory is synthesized from the answers to the questions. When the user is satisfied with the virtual recollection of the memory, a database of content may be searched for the virtual recollection of the memory. Video data, for example, may be retrieved that matches the virtual recollection of the memory. The video data is thus historical data documenting past events.

  • Publication number: 20170132896
Abstract: A system for providing awareness of an interactive surface is disclosed. The system may include a processor that is communicatively linked to an interactive surface. The processor may determine a position and a velocity of an object that is within range of the interactive surface based on one or more of media content, vibrations, air movement, sounds and, global positioning data associated with the object. Additionally, the processor may determine if the object has a trajectory that would cause the object to collide with the interactive surface based on the information associated with the object. If the processor determines that the object has a trajectory that would cause the object to collide with the interactive surface, the processor can generate a notification.

  • Publication number: 20170130978
Abstract: Directional environmental control provides nearly immediate comfort. A location associated with a mobile device determines an air terminal that best serves the location. Conditioned air may thus be streamed from the air terminal to the location associated with the mobile device. The conditioned air may be heated or cooled according to a profile associated with a user of the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20170127127
Abstract: A system for providing video motion augmentation is disclosed. In particular, the system provides mechanisms for analyzing video content, metadata, or a combination thereof, to dynamically enhance and adapt regions of small movements or micro-movements in the video content based on a variety of inputs. The regions of small movements or micro-movements may be enhanced based on device characteristics associated with a device consuming the video content, based on a theme associated with the content, based on sensor data, based on user feedback, and based on a variety of other inputs. For example, motion content in the video content may be enhanced and emphasized based on the display resolution or other device characteristics of a device requesting the video content. Once the enhanced video content is generated based on the inputs, the enhanced content may be provided to the device requesting the content.

  • Publication number: 20170105621
Abstract: A system for providing video analysis and motion augmentation, particularly in the context of telemedicine applications is disclosed. In particular, the system may utilize cameras and other devices to detect macro and micro changes and movements of a being so as to assist in the detection of an anomaly associated with the being. After detecting the anomaly based on the detected macro and micro changes and movements, the system may transmit an alert identifying the anomaly and formulate a proposed request for interaction with the being. The request for interaction may be transmitted to the being, and information obtained in response to the request for interaction may be utilized by the system to assist in the determination of a diagnosis of a condition of the being. The process may be repeated as necessary until the diagnosis is confirmed and enough information associated with the being is obtained.

  • Patent number: 9620006
Abstract: The emission of variable ultrasonic sound waves from a plurality of sound sources is controlled based on controlled signals generated by a controller. The plurality of sound sources emit ultrasonic waves towards a surface based on the control signals, creating a force which causes particles within a region proximate the surface to move in a desired manner with respect to the surface. The movement of the particles with respect to the surface changes the appearance of the surface. In this manner, the appearance of the surface may be changed in a desired manner to suit needs for home automation and security.

  • Publication number: 20170026763
Abstract: Directional sound location is used to determine security events of a security system. A sound sensor reports a vector direction to a sound source of an acoustic signal. If the vector direction is historically observed at similar times, then perhaps the sound source is not considered a security event. However, if the vector direction is unknown or unfamiliar, the security system may infer the security event and notify emergency services.

  • Publication number: 20170006100
Abstract: Concepts and technologies for point-to-point data synchronization are provided. A personal area network connection between a first user device and a second user device is established. State change information of first data stored on the first user device is received by the second user device, and second data stored on the second device is updated to reflect the state change to synchronize the first data and the second data. Alternatively, a synchronization message including the state change information of first data stored on a first user device is received by the second user device. The state change information is extracted from the synchronization message, and second data stored on a second user device is updated to reflect the state change to synchronize the first data and the second data.
