  • Patent number: 9539942
Abstract: A method of controlling an ambient light feature of a cup holder assembly having one or more cup holders includes providing a light source having a light output of varying luminous intensity, sensing an amount of light reflected from an object received in one of the cup holders using a light sensor, and controlling the luminous intensity of the light output based on the amount of light reflected and the distance between the object and a sidewall of the cup holder assembly. In this method, a change in the amount of light reflected from an object received in one of the cup holders correlates to a change in the luminous intensity provided by the light source, and a change in the distance between the object received the cup holder and the sidewall of the cup holders correlates to a change in the luminous intensity provided by the light source.

  • Publication number: 20160023585
Abstract: A method of controlling the temperature of a cup holder in a vehicle interior includes the steps of receiving a beverage container in the cup holder detecting its presence and allowing the beverage container to stabilize. The method further includes the steps of measuring the temperature of the beverage container and the ambient temperature of the vehicle. It is then determined if the beverage container should be heated or cooled. A thermal sequence is then initiated to heat or cool the beverage container, and an ambient lighting feature is provided as a function of the thermal sequence initiated.

  • Patent number: 9182986
Abstract: An apparatus is described having an out-of-order instruction execution pipeline. The out-of-order execution pipeline has a first circuit and a second circuit. The first circuit is to hold a pointer to physical storage space where information is kept that cannot yet be confirmed as being free of potential dependencies on the information. The second circuit is to hold the pointer if the pointer existed in the first circuit when a non speculative region of program code ended and upon retirement of a following speculative overwriter instruction originally coded to overwrite the information.
