  • Publication number: 20130137419
Abstract: Software allows images captured during product development on a mobile device (e.g., smartphone or other client device) to be uploaded to a design management system from the mobile device. Mark-up annotations and comments can be added to the images at the mobile device. Assignment of tasks related to the images can be made from the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 8317156
Abstract: A method is described for controlling the operation of a metering valve driven by a stepper motor, a position sensor normally providing position information to allow control over the metering valve in a closed loop manner. The method comprises the steps of: performing a calibration operation to derive a relationship between stepper motor position and metering valve position; controlling the operation of the metering valve in a closed loop manner; and controlling the operation of the metering valve in an open loop manner in the event that the position sensor output is thought to be unreliable; wherein, when operating in the open loop manner, the metering valve is moved to a desired angular position by using the relationship derived in the calibration operation to determine the stepper motor position associated with the desired metering valve position and moving the stepper motor to the determined stepper motor position.

  • Publication number: 20120265644
Abstract: A software-based interactive collection book for mobile devices provides the users a way to connect their customers to products while the products are still being developed. This will allow a user to engage with their customers earlier to drive more sales. This will result in their products being more successful in the market at the time of launch.

  • Patent number: 7909200
Abstract: A wastebasket has one or more openings on one or more sides thereof. The openings extending from near the top of the wastebasket and terminate near the bottom of the wastebasket. The one or more openings allow a part of the wastebasket on either side of each opening to move outwardly under the pressure of being stuffed, and particularly when overstuffed by pushing the trash down in the plastic bag to create more room at the top of the wastebasket. The lower end of the one or more openings relieves an air pressure differential between an installed trash bag and the wastebasket with just a little movement upward of the trash bag.

  • Patent number: 7486130
Abstract: A clock distribution approach includes distributing a clock signal from a clock tree to a first set of circuit elements characterized by a first circuit characteristic; and distributing a clock signal from a sub-tree of the clock tree to a second set of circuit elements characterized by a second circuit characteristic different from the first circuit characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20070178293
Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment, a Super Lattice Intrinsic Material utilizes a coupling of an appropriate micro/macro structured substrate and a group of as-deposited nanostructures. Substrate texture can be provided either by prior or insitu processing, and the material depositions can be either uniform or non-uniform depending on the desired product parameters.

  • Patent number: 6612741
Abstract: A new sandbag that has a spring-like collar attached to the inside of the sandbag's mouth that forces the mouth closed. In order to fill the bag with sand the flaps that form the mouth have to be pulled apart. The self-closing feature of this sandbag can be used to automate sandbagging by having the bags packaged with one mouth flap in the open position. As the bags are removed from the stack, roll or similar packaging, the mouth flap clamps around the open-end of the source of sand, which can be similar to a funnel. After the bags are filled, they are removed, sealed shut and the next bag is put in place. The self-closing feature of this sandbag first allows for the sand to be guided into the bag, and then forces the mouth of the bag to close. The mouth can be further secured by a sealing means such as staples, thread or fiber, or hook-and-loop fastening surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5983083
Abstract: A radiotelephone comprising first and second housing portions connected by a hinge, the hinge comprising a mounting structure on the first housing portion; a shaft projecting into the mounting structure and rotatably connecting the mounting structure and the second housing portion and thereby defining an axis of rotation of the hinge, the shaft including a cam portion; spring means located in the mounting structure and including a pair of limbs elongate parallel to the axis of the shaft, the limbs converging to engage partway along their lengths the cam portion so as to apply a rotational bias to it, whereby the first and second housing portions can adopt an open bias position and a closed position; and a transducer located between the limbs in a region beyond the projecting end of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4344567
Abstract: Liquid heating systems employing a circulating oil which is forced through a baffle having restricting orifices, so as to develop heat of friction and shear. The system is characterized by the employment of a plurality of orifices in the restricting baffle, each orifice being angularly disposed with respect to the axis of flow. The oil is heated by frictional impact of restricted flow through the orifices. The angular disposition of the orifices effects supplemental heating of the oil by the shear effect of the pressurized oil advancing through the static or depressurized oil adjacent the anterior side of the baffle.
