Abstract: A system, method and device are disclosed for managing bandwidth in content delivery from a push content server to a wireless device. The system may include: a content server configurable to deliver content to the wireless device; a processor for controlling operation of the server; a communications subsystem coupled to the processor; a memory coupled to the processor; and a storage device coupled to the processor. The content server may include a module for managing bandwidth in content delivery from the content server to the wireless device, the module being configured to cause the content server to: record a policy for the delivery of content to the wireless device; initiate content delivery to the wireless device; evaluate the policy to determine whether new content for delivery is deliverable to the wireless device; deliver content when the policy is satisfied; and decline delivery of content when the policy is not satisfied.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for a wireless device for adding a content server as a content source for the wireless device in a push content delivery system having a plurality of content servers configurable for delivering push content to the wireless device. The process operable on the wireless device comprises receiving an invitation from the content server at the wireless device; determining if a mobile content player is to be installed on the wireless device; determining if the invitation is accepted; sending wireless device data to the content server from the wireless device if the invitation is accepted, where the wireless device data is for configuring the content server to push content to the wireless device; and retrieving and installing the mobile content player on the wireless device if the mobile content server is to be installed.

Abstract: A method for synchronizing content delivery to a plurality of delivery devices of a user. A communications network and a system are also provided. The delivery devices include at least one computer connected to internet and at least one mobile device. The method comprises retrieving profile data concerning the plurality of delivery devices of the user; sending an invitation to deliver content to the plurality of delivery devices of the user; receiving at least two responses to the invitation, for each response received: identifying a responding delivery device of the plurality of delivery devices from which the response is received using the profile data; retrieving a platform type of the responding delivery device accepting the invitation; and retrieving and providing a delivery version of the content in a delivery format acceptable for the platform of the responding delivery device.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods, devices, and systems for analyzing defects in an object such as a semiconductor wafer. In one embodiment, it provides a method of characterizing defects in semiconductor wafers during fabrication in a semiconductor fabrication facility. This method comprises the following actions. The semiconductor wafers are inspected to locate defects. Locations corresponding to the located defects are then stored in a defect file. A dual charged-particle beam system is automatically navigated to the vicinity defect location using information from the defect file. The defect is automatically identified and a charged particle beam image of the defect is then obtained. The charged particle beam image is then analyzed to characterize the defect. A recipe is then determined for further analysis of the defect. The recipe is then automatically executed to cut a portion of the defect using a charged particle beam.

Abstract: An artificial surface for the growing of turf forming grasses and other plants, comprising a mixture of rubber, a polymer modified bitumen emulsion and slow release, plant nutrient containing particles, mixed in sufficient proportions and to a substantially even distribution of each of the rubber, emulsion and particles throughout the mixture so that, when laid and cured, the mixture uniformly produces a water permeable, heat conductive surface having air pockets through which a root system of the turf forming grasses and other plants can penetrate, the plant nutrient containing particles being trapped within the surface for slow release of plant nutrient to the root system.

Abstract: A user interface for a display of an electronic device is described. The user interface includes a background layer for displaying an interface and at least a first animated control element overlaid on the back ground layer. The control element has a plurality of functions associated with it. Each of said functions is executable by making a 2D gesture associated with a one of said plurality of functions in a region of the user interface associated with the control element. A device including such an interface and computer code for providing such an interface are also described.

Abstract: A seat recliner assembly having a fixed gear plate having a gear portion formed therein. The gear portion is disposed about a first slot that includes a first raised collar. A movable plate having a gear portion formed therein and disposed about a second slot also includes a second raised collar. The gear portion of the movable plate is in operating engagement with the gear portion of the fixed plate and defines an annular race between an outer surface of the first raised collar and an inner surface of the second raised collar. A bearing member is disposed concentric to the inner surface of the second raised collar. First and second wedge members are disposed in the annular race and engage the bearing member. Each of the wedge members includes first and second contact features. A spring member engaging each of the wedge members biases the wedge members apart. A hub member is engaged with a drive shaft and projects through the first slot.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for an automatic and continuous supply of coating material to a coating applicator in optical fiber fabrication. The present invention switches from one coating reservoir to another by way of a transitional period in which both coating reservoirs are supplying coating material to the coating applicator. For example, while an in-use reservoir is supplying the coating material to the coating applicator, a standby reservoir is being filled, settled to off gas air bubbles and then slowly pressurized. A sized orifice is used to slowly bleed off pressure from the in-use reservoir at a rate that does not allow the pressure in the in-use reservoir from falling out of a desired pressure range.

Abstract: The present invention provides a golf car bumper assembly which is mounted on a front axle of a golf car in order to reduce extensive damage to the body of the golf car in the event of a collision, comprising a bumper beam having a first end and a second end, a front surface and a back surface, and extending in a longitudinal direction, a pair of bumper guards, each having depending ends, a pair of mounting plates, a pair of bumper brackets, and at least two fasteners. Also provided is a kit comprised of the separate components of the bumper assembly and a method for attaching the bumper assembly components on the front axle of a golf car.
