  • Patent number: 8543999
Abstract: A communications protocol interface is configured as being divisible into a core portion and an extensible portion. The extensible portion of the communications protocol interface is further configured to be customized in scope so that each network element can communicate a unique and optionally small, subset of actual interoperable data that corresponds to at least a portion of a larger defined data set. A software generator program is configured to generate a set of extensible source code that operates upon the subset of actual data and that directs the execution of the extensible portion of the communications protocol interface for a particular network element.

  • Patent number: 8484612
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for generating source code from XML formatted device data sheets. Information is accepted from a user regarding whether data definitions, string tables and/or link tables are needed in a software project. Files are created corresponding to the data definitions, string tables and/or link tables. The files are then collected and compiled into resultant source code. An application generator performs the compilation of the input files into source code. The resultant source code may be incorporated into a software development project and may be updated when needed.

  • Patent number: 8402161
Abstract: A communications protocol interface may be configured as being divisible into a core portion and an extensible portion. The extensible portion of the communications protocol interface may be further configured so that each network element can communicate a unique and optimally small subset of actual interoperable data that corresponds to at least a portion of a larger defined data set. A software generator program may be configured to generate a set of extensible source code that operates upon the subset of actual data and that directs the execution of the extensible portion of the communications protocol interface for a particular network element.

  • Publication number: 20120101349
Abstract: A pulse oximeter includes a housing defined by at least a first housing portion and a second housing portion wherein the second portion includes a passage. A sensor module disposed in the housing and proximate the passage includes at least one light emitting diode and at least one photodetector. A processing module also disposed in the housing and configured to communicate with the sensor module includes at least a processor, a network interface, and a power supply. The pulse oximeter further includes a pad having at least a bottom surface and a pad passage, as well as an adhesive configured to be disposed on at least a portion of the bottom surface of the pad. The housing is configured to releasably engage the pad wherein the housing passage and the pad passage are substantially aligned with one another.

  • Publication number: 20120096367
Abstract: A system for displaying physiological parameters includes: a central processing unit (CPU) that is configured to control operation of a monitor device; a display screen; and a set of one or more computer readable data storage media storing software instructions that, when executed by the CPU, cause the monitor device to: detect a device that is added to the system, the device being used to measure at least one physiological parameter associated with a patient; provision the device; allow a user to select a skin defining a layout for displaying data associated with the physiological parameter measured by the device; allow the user to select a position of a window displaying the skin, the position selected from one of a plurality of cells on a matrix displayed on the display screen; and display the window on the display screen at the position.

  • Publication number: 20120094600
Abstract: A gateway device includes a transceiver in electrical communication with a processor, the transceiver being configured to communicate over a wireless network to both receive data from at least one body-worn sensor and transmit the data, and a plurality of indicator lights in electrical communication with the processor. A first of the indicator lights indicates successful power-on of the gateway device. A second of the indicator lights indicates establishment of a Bluetooth connection with a body-worn sensor. A third of the indicator lights indicates successful creation of a WiFi connection. A fourth of the indicator lights indicate successful creation of a cellular connection.

  • Patent number: 8024421
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for communicating between network devices. A data dictionary may be derived from a device data sheet. The data dictionary may include one or more data definitions specific to the network device and a global unique identifier for the network device. The data dictionary and data are received from the network device. Data definitions from the data dictionary are used to extract and process information from the data. The data dictionary may include a hierarchal classification scheme for data including a first level, a second level and a third level, wherein the first level defines a type of data, wherein the second level defines a type of action, and wherein the third level defines an object of the action.

  • Publication number: 20080140770
Abstract: A dynamic medical object information base (DMOIB) is used with a communication protocol. A medical object information base (MOIB) may generally define rules of creation and modification of data defined for use in medical products. A dynamic version of the MOIB adapts to changing data classifications. DMOIB is preferably compatible with non-dynamic MOIB systems. DMOIB preferably reduces code space and simplifies management of software projects. DMOIB may allow for an entirely dynamic system using a discovery/negotiation process for determining full features of a device. DMOIB may also allow for generation of a dynamic interface to handle data from devices.
