  • Publication number: 20130024030
Abstract: A method of using a wellbore insert for downhole operations such as frac operations, e.g. where the frac work starts where the surface fluid is pumped through one or more addressable wellbore inserts via their ports into the formation pursuant to a first set of control signals which may be transmitted from a surface location. Once the operation, e.g. a frac operation, is completed, a second set of signals may be generated to effect a different wellbore function. The wellbore insert typically comprises a housing having an inner annulus and one or more ports dimensioned and configured to provide a fluid pathway between the inner annulus of the housing and the outer surface of the housing. A selectively movable port seal, operable via a port seal mover, is dimensioned and configured to selectively occlude or open these ports. A movable plug, controlled by a plug mover, operates within the housing to selectively permit or occlude fluid flow within the housing.

  • Publication number: 20130020065
Abstract: A wellbore insert comprises a housing that further comprises an inner annulus and one or more ports dimensioned and configured to provide a fluid pathway between the inner annulus of the housing and the outer surface of the housing. A selectively movable port seal, operable via a port seal mover, is dimensioned and configured to selectively occlude or open these ports. A movable plug, controlled by a plug mover, operates within the housing to selectively permit or occlude fluid flow within the housing. A power supply and a detector are typically present within the housing. An individually addressable electronic control module is operable to effect a change in the position of the selectively movable port seal and/or the movable plug. The wellbore insert can be used for downhole operations such as frac operations.

  • Patent number: 8286367
Abstract: A system for continuous (re-)drying of wood pieces. A conveyor arrangement receives and carries the wood pieces in file following a course. A moisture content of each wood piece travelling on the conveyor arrangement is measured during the course. The wood pieces whose measured moisture content are above a target content are diverted towards a drying equipment, in particular by high-frequency, whereas the other wood pieces continue their course on the conveyor arrangement. The drying equipment removes a moisture portion from the diverted wood pieces. The moisture contents of the processed wood pieces are again measured. The pieces whose moisture content dropped below the target content are routed towards the conveyor arrangement whereas the other pieces are routed in the drying equipment for a re-drying.

  • Patent number: 8191954
Abstract: A trim for a motorcycle windshield having windshield-adjacent storage compartments along the lower windshield edge. The trim includes a body with a shield portion and a mounting portion of rigid sheet material sufficiently flexible to conform to the windshield surface. The shield portion has a length for spanning the full width of the windshield lower edge and a vertical dimension sufficient to reach to a level along the tops of the windshield-adjacent storage compartments. The mounting portion extends below the shield portion to engage existing windshield-mounting hardware for securement of the trim to the motorcycle. The trim is secured to the motorcycle windshield by loosening the existing windshield-mounting hardware from a fairing at the windshield and pulling the top of the fairing away from the windshield.

  • Patent number: 7699197
Abstract: A belt utility system for carrying up to a large number of objects includes an elongated flexible strap for removably supporting a large number of plurality of receptacles or holders for objects, at least one holder or receptacle for an object, as well as a way of removably attaching the receptacle(s) or holder(s) to the strap. This means of attachment includes a finger-gripping portion for facilitating both the simultaneous gripping of holder(s) or receptacle(s) for objects and the detachment, by the user, by generally lifting with the fingers, of these holder(s) or receptacle(s), in a generally upward direction. The utility system can also include a snap-lock connector connected to the strap and to the receptacle or holder, and a releasing tab or button near or on the gripping portion for releasing the connector portions from each other when pressed by the user's finger substantially at the same time as the user lifts the finger-gripping portion.

  • Publication number: 20080113832
Abstract: A baseball batting swing trainer teaches proper bat swinging and ball hitting technique. The swing trainer includes a first handle attached to the first end of a shaft. The second end of the shaft includes a head having a diameter greater than the shaft diameter and less than the diameter of the head of a conventional baseball bat. A cylindrical second handle slidable between the first and second shaft ends. The second handle is sized to accommodate all five fingers on one of the user's hands in a batting grip. A process for teaching a person the proper technique for swinging a baseball bat using the swing trainer is also provided. When performed properly, the process produces an audible sound by striking the second handle against the stop while the head of the bat is passing through the user's strike zone and directly over the user's forward foot.
