  • Publication number: 20080010103
Abstract: Systems and techniques for managing ticket changes are described. for managing changes to a purchased ticket. A married segment indicator associated with first and second married flight segments of the purchased ticket is located. It is determined whether changes to the purchased ticket affect existing bookings of the first and second married flight segments. Based on the determination, a replacement ticket is constructed to include the first and second married flight segments of the purchased ticket utilizing the existing booked inventory; otherwise, a replacement ticket is constructed using current availability information for the first and second married flight segments from the replacement ticket.

  • Publication number: 20080010101
Abstract: Systems and techniques for reissuing a purchased ticket are described. A first reissue method that is applicable to a reconstructed ticket is determined to be applicable to a first partial pricing solution selected from a plurality of partial pricing solutions that each includes a fare and an itinerary that partially satisfies a new travel request. The first reissue method is determined to be applicable to a second, different partial pricing solution selected from the plurality of partial pricing solutions. The first partial pricing solution and the second partial pricing solution are combined to form a larger partial pricing solution or a reissued ticket according to specifications of the first reissue method.

  • Publication number: 20080010104
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for providing new pricing solutions to satisfy changes to a purchased ticket are described. A query for new travel includes information needed to determine a set of pricing solutions for issuing a new ticket that satisfies the new travel requirements using some value associated with an original, issued ticket. Valid fares corresponding to replacement itineraries are determined according to a determined reissue method that is valid for the replacement itineraries.

  • Patent number: 7203198
Abstract: One embodiment of a method for switching ATM cells using Early Packet Discard and Partial Packet Discard is provided. Initially, a first cell of an AAL5 packet is received at an input port. Next, it is determined whether there is likely to be enough buffering available to handle the whole packet (i.e., up to 64 Kbytes). If it is determined that sufficient buffering is unlikely to be available, the entire packet is discarded. If it is determined that sufficient buffering exists, the cell is received and buffered for subsequent transmission. Next it is determined whether the flow's buffer is filled at any time after initial transmission of a AAL5 cell but before reception of the final cell. If such a state is determined, the current cell is discarded and a flag is set in the flow structure so that subsequent cells of the same packet, except the last, will also be discarded.

  • Publication number: 20060292971
Abstract: A grinding module for a rotating grinding brush includes an elongate body part, at least one abrasive cloth extending from the body part, and a plurality of bristles projecting from the body part essentially in the same direction as the abrasive cloth, the abrasive cloth being divided into a number of sub-segments that are delimited by slits, the abrasive cloth being configured with different distances between the slits, so that sub-segments have at least two different widths. Hereby an abrasive cloth is provided which is configured for cooperating with a grinding module for a rotating grinding brush, whereby, during the mounting procedure, the operator avoids having to ascertain that abrasive cloths with a relevant type of sub-segments are mounted in a correct sequence on the hub.

  • Publication number: 20060286891
Abstract: Playsets having pop-up structures. Pop-up structures may be adapted to transition to an erect configuration when the playset is in an open configuration, in which at least a portion of the pop-up structure may extend outside of a perimeter of the playset, and to a compact stowed configuration when the playset is in a closed configuration, in which the pop-up structure is disposed within the perimeter. Playsets may include elements adapted to urge a portion of the pop-up structure toward the erect configuration or one or more playset-accessory retention chambers. Some examples may include first and second latch elements that are adapted to cooperatively retain the playset in the open configuration. Other examples may include a fastener adapted to be moved selectively between a clasping position in which the fastener retains the playset in the closed configuration and a linking position in which the fastener couples to a second playset.

  • Publication number: 20060275137
Abstract: A fuel delivery system includes a fuel pump, a controller, and a boost circuit. The fuel pump has an electric motor that includes a winding configured to operate with a maximum efficiency at a first voltage for an expected load. The controller includes a pulse width modulator for generating a driving signal for the electric motor. Under normal operating conditions, the boost circuit acts as a pass-through and the driving signal is modulated at the first voltage to control the pump output. However, when a load greater than the expected load is applied to the electric motor, the boost circuit acts to scale the driving signal to a second voltage that is greater than the first voltage. The second voltage drives the electric motor at a voltage beyond the maximum efficiency but provides overall improved system efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20060275135
Abstract: A fuel pump system for pumping fuel to an engine in a vehicle includes a pump motor having a carbon-based commutator and brushes in a position exposed to fuel, resulting in a tendency to form a film between the commutator and brushes that can reduce pump performance by increasing the electrical resistance of the brush-commutator interface. The pump motor has a nominal voltage rating. A power circuit is coupled to the pump motor for selectably providing an operating voltage and a boost voltage, wherein the boost voltage is greater than the nominal voltage rating. A controller selecting the operating voltage during an ordinary run cycle and selects the boost voltage during a clean-up cycle. The controller selects the clean-up cycle for a limited time that is sufficiently short to avoid damage to the pump motor from exceeding the nominal voltage rating and sufficiently long to create arcing between the commutator and brushes that reverses formation of the film.

  • Patent number: 7086493
Abstract: A fuel delivery system includes a fuel control module for regulating a fuel pump within a fuel tank independent of the engine control module. The fuel control module is connected to a restraint control module for receiving a signal directly therefrom in the event of vehicle impact. The fuel control module is adapted to cease fuel pump operation in response to an impact signal without requiring a signal from the engine control module.

  • Publication number: 20050257779
Abstract: A system for fuel delivery in an automotive vehicle is provided. The system includes a fuel pump and an electrical control module. The electrical control module receives a control signal from the engine control module indicating a desired fuel pump speed. The electrical control module includes a pulse width modulator and a solid-state switch configured to generate a fuel pump drive signal that varies in duty cycle based on the control signal. The drive signal is provided to the fuel pump effectively controlling the speed of operation of the fuel pump. Based on the speed of fuel pump operation, the fuel pump draws fuel from the fuel tank and provides it to the fuel rail for use in a combustion engine.

  • Publication number: 20050255378
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a battery includes as an initial step providing a cell for a battery having alternating positive and negative electrode plates, wherein each of the electrode plates is separated by an electrically insulative separator layer. Each of the positive and negative electrode plates includes a projecting tab extending from an adjacent upper portion thereof, the projecting tabs of the positive plates being generally aligned, and the projecting tabs of the negative plates being generally aligned. Next, the method comprises attaching a conductive connecting strap to the projecting tabs of the positive and negative plates. The method then comprises applying a cap material onto the connecting positive strap and allowing the cap material to spread and drip to the exposed portions of the projecting tabs and the adjacent upper portions of the negative and positive plates and separator material.
