    Abstract: A document processing system including a document structure and a library of routines for manipulating the document structure. The components of the document structure are made up of individually-locatable blocks. The components include a chain of text blocks which contains at least one document page and includes at least one block, one or more chains of reference blocks, each chain containing a reference and including at least one reference block, information attributes in the text blocks which relate locations in the text of the document to item numbers referring to references, a page index which relates page numbers to the text blocks at which the pages begin, and a reference index which relates each item number to the first reference block in the chain containing the reference. The document structure may only be manipulated by means of routines in the document manager library. The routines in the library are accessible to programs such as editor programs and printing programs which manipulate documents.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a process for the selective production of ketones under hydroformylation conditions. In particular, the process comprises the hydroformylation of at least one olefin in the presence of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and a catalyst which consists essentially of triruthenium dodecacarbonyl. The olefin preferably comprises propylene. The reaction is conducted under conditions such that the ratio of olefin:ruthenium is about 200:1 to 3000:1, the ratio of carbon monoxide:hydrogen:olefin to about 1:1.4:4 to 1:6:100, the total pressure is about 500 to 10,000 psig, the carbon monoxide partial pressure is about 50 to 500 psig, and the reaction temperature is about 60.degree. to 250.degree. C.

    Abstract: A novel music instrument is disclosed, comprising (i) a wind music instrument of the type wherein the emitted acoustic tone is dependent upon the placement of means such as valves or a slide which determine column length and the wind pressure exerted by the musician, (ii) a music synthesizer, and (iii) an interface apparatus. The interface apparatus includes sensing means for sensing the position of the instrument valves or slides and generating a sensing signal, transducer means for sensing characteristics of the note emitted by the wind instrument and generating a transducer signal, and a controller adapted to the type of wind instrument for generating a synthesizer control signal in response to the sensing signal and the transducer signal. By playing the instrument in a normal manner, the musician is able to also control the synthesizer to generate notes related to the notes emitted by the wind instrument.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a process for recovering rhodium and cobalt from a low pressure oxo catalyst solution containing ligandized (modified) rhodium and cobalt, organic solvent, and at least trace amounts of oxo aldehyde, which comprises contacting the catalyst solution with an oxygen containing gas and aqueous formic acid to form an organic phase and an aqueous phase, wherein the aqueous phase contains rhodium formate and cobalt formate solublized therein, and thereafter separating said phases to isolate said formates from the organic solvent, by-products and the like, for recycle to the reactor or for further treatment for use in the same or different processes.

C. to about 250.degree. C. and a pressure of from about 750 psig to about 10,000 psig with hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and a catalyst consisting of a mixture of unmodified cobalt and unmodified rhodium in a molar ratio range of from about 0.5 to about 100, wherein for each mole of olefin there is present from about 1.times.10.sup.-7 to about 1.times.10.sup.-5 moles of rhodium and from about 1.times.10.sup.-7 to about 1.times.10.sup.-4 moles of cobalt, for a sufficient period of time to permit reaction of the olefinic material with the carbon monoxide and hydrogen to form aldehyde product.

    Abstract: A nuclear reactor having a core catcher comprising a group of upright assemblies disposed side-by-side beneath the reactor core. The assemblies each comprise a stack of spaced sacrificial plates mounted on a graphite column which collectively support the core. The plates are profiled to form vertical elongate cavities in which molten core debris can collect and solidify by heat conduction to the plates. The heat capacity of the core catcher is enhanced by cooling coils in the columns and by melting of the sacrificial plates which improves the heat conductivity of the debris.

    Abstract: A programmer for a music synthesizer including a keyboard and M independent voice modules (channels) and wherein the characteristics of each module are dependent upon K independent parameters, each parameter defined by an analog voltage level. The programmer is capable of storing N distinct programs, each program including information defining K parameters for each of M modules. The programmer is comprised of a common set of K potentiometers which are coupled through an analog to digital (A/D) converter means. The output of the A/D converter means is applied selectively either to a digital memory for storage at a location defined by operator controlled switches or through a digital to analog (D/A) converter means to the voice modules. Alternatively, information applied to the D/A converter means for application to the voice modules can be derived from the digital memory.
