  • Publication number: 20150302571
Abstract: An authentication engine authenticates a user to access a service via a computing device by executing an object recognition algorithm on an image received from a different computing device. Specifically, the authentication engine presents an image token on a first computing device after receiving a request. The authentication engine then instructs the user to use a second computing device to capture a digital photo of the image token. Upon receiving the photo from the second device, the authentication engine executes an object recognition algorithm on the photo to derive a set of image descriptors. The authentication engine then generates an image difference by comparing the set of descriptors of the photo against the set of descriptors of the image token. Based on the image difference, the authentication engine authenticates the user to use a service via the first computing device.

  • Publication number: 20150203160
Abstract: A flooring product has multiple planar single piece substrate components, each with opposing straight longitudinal and lateral edges. A first lateral edge of a second of the substrate components abuts a first lateral edge of a first of the substrate components to form a common seam. The first and second of the substrate components are adjacent relative to a sequential array of multiple substrate components running parallel to the pair of longitudinal edges. The product has a pair of laminate component affixed to each side of each of the substrate components continuously over the sequential array thereof. The laminate components strengthen the product in relation to bearing a load applied to the second surface thereof and each of the common seams. The flooring product may be cut to lengths for accommodating overall lengths of recreational vehicles, trailers or manufactured housing units and thus reduces manufacturing costs associated therewith.

  • Patent number: 9076044
Abstract: A method and apparatus to monitor and document that proper hygienic procedures are followed by food service providers consisting of a camera, a processor controlling the camera, and software to accomplish the hand washing monitoring. The criteria for identifying the start and end of a hand washing event by monitoring activity is selected areas is presented. A record is created of the wash event including a sequence of photograph during the event and additional related data such as start time, duration, location, and any employee identification. This record is available for recording or downloading to a server for further manipulation, including washer identification and statistical analysis.

  • Patent number: 9027682
Abstract: A self charging electric vehicle includes a frame, at least one battery, a distribution box, an engine control unit, a plurality of drive axle systems, and a plurality of electric modules. The plurality of drive axle systems is positioned on the frame and a motor of each of the drive axle system is powered by the battery. A drive axle generator of each of the drive axle system re-charges the battery through the distribution box as the drive axle generator is selectively engaged with the motor by a clutch. The clutch is automatically operated by the engine control unit as the plurality of electric modules provides data back into the engine control unit so that the drive axle generator can be efficiently engaged with rotational motion of the motor.

  • Publication number: 20150052390
Abstract: A system for providing protection to a processor system from the problems associated with power failures in the middle of processor operations is described. On detection of a power failure in the main power source, the processor power is maintained by means of a short-term secondary power source. Either immediately or after a momentary pause to override glitches, if power remains off the processor is notified that power will soon be removed and that an orderly shutdown is to take place. Once the protected system has completed its orderly shutdown, or after a length of time indicating that the orderly shutdown is improbable, power is removed from the system for a defined period and the system removes power from the protected processor system for at least a defined period of time, providing an assured hard restart. When external power is restored a normal running state is resumed after any power up sequencing. The orderly shutdown and hard reset can take place by command from the protected processor or system.

  • Patent number: 8926047
Abstract: An ink jet printer for printing on an at least partially cylindrical objects comprises one or more printheads positioned above a line of travel and a carriage assembly configured to hold an at least partially cylindrical object axially aligned along the line of travel and to position said object relative to the printheads, and then rotate the object relative to said one or more printheads. The printer also includes a curing device located along the line of travel and configured to emit energy suitable to cure the deposited fluid.

  • Publication number: 20140211986
Abstract: A method and apparatus to monitor and document movement of bodies along or through selected regions is described for the directional counting of such bodies. The reduction of the consideration to selected regions avoids excessive calculation and allows the use of an inexpensive image acquisition and processor. Methods for the determining the direction of movement are described. A record is created for counting events for recording or downloading to a server for further manipulation.

  • Patent number: 7912265
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method of intra-oral analysis for measuring plaque removal is disclosed. The system includes hardware for real-time image acquisition and software to store the acquired images on a patient-by-patient basis. The system implements algorithms to segment teeth of interest from surrounding gum, and uses a real-time image-based morphing procedure to automatically overlay a grid onto each segmented tooth. Pattern recognition methods are used to classify plaque from surrounding gum and enamel, while ignoring glare effects due to the reflection of camera light and ambient light from enamel regions. The system integrates these components into a single software suite with an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI) that allows users to do an end-to-end run of a patient record, including tooth segmentation of all teeth, grid morphing of each segmented tooth, and plaque classification of each tooth image.
