  • Publication number: 20240281071
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to artificial reality (XR) controllers and hand gestures and corresponding representation of the hand gestures in XR space. Users can benefit from being able to use touch interactions while also holding the XR controller. Example implementations allow a user to use controllers for distance interaction and interactions that require controller buttons, but also recognize when the user extends her finger and wants to manually touch things-using touch in conjunction with controllers. Thus, if the user has a controller in her hand and want to touch a UI element, she can also use her finger, where the system identifies the finger not touching the controller (e.g., via capacitance sensors) and that a hand pose is present (e.g., finger extended—from camera) to allow that finger to provide hand input, without the user having to put down the controller.

  • Publication number: 20240281300
Abstract: An initiating processing tile generates an offload request that may include a processing tile ID, source data needed for the computation, program counter, and destination location where the computation result is stored. The offload processing tile may execute the offloaded computation. Alternatively, the offload processing tile may deny the offload request based on congestion criteria. The congestion criteria may include a processing workload measure, whether a resource needed to perform the computation is available, and an offload request buffer fullness. In an embodiment, the denial message that is returned to the initiating processing tile may include the data needed to perform the computation (read from the local memory of the offload processing tile). Returning the data with the denial message results in the same inter-processing tile traffic that would occur if no attempt to offload the computation were initiated.

  • Patent number: 12069108
Abstract: A computing system and method that can be used for a video conferencing system including a watchdog to ensure that all data associated with the video conference is encrypted from end-to-end. In particular, aspects of the present disclosure provide a secure and private approach to conducting remote meetings. For example, the watchdog can monitor the data associated with the video conference, ranging from call setup data to video image and audio data transmitted from one or more client computing devices. In particular, the present disclosure provides a method for ensuring that the video conference data is protected by using multiple steps and monitoring the video conference data while the video conference is ongoing such that remedial measures can be taken immediately when a breach in security is determined.

  • Patent number: 12058496
Abstract: A hearing system includes a processing device, a hearing aid adapted to be worn by a user, and a data logger. The hearing aid includes an input transducer providing an electric input signal representing sound in the environment of the user, and a hearing aid processor executing a processing algorithm in dependence of a specific parameter setting. The data logger stores time segments of said electric input signal, and data representing a corresponding user intent. The processing device comprises a simulation model of the hearing aid. The simulation model is based on a learning algorithm configured to provide a specific parameter setting optimized to the user's needs in dependence of a hearing profile of the user, the logged data, and a cost function. A method of determining a parameter setting for a hearing aid is further disclosed.

  • Patent number: 12053637
Abstract: Systems and methods to couple electrical contacts of a header of a medical device to respective feedthrough pins of a connector block of a medical device housing using a preformed wire are disclosed. The preformed wire can include a proximate portion comprising a number of turns shaped to engage a feedthrough pin. The number of turns of the preformed wire, once engaged with the feedthrough pin, can physically separate a major portion of the preformed wire from the connector block and the housing. The major portion of the preformed wire can be shaped to route a distal portion of the preformed wire to a first electrical contact of the header when the proximate portion of the preformed wire engages the feedthrough pin.

  • Publication number: 20240256153
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to memory page access instrumentation for generating a memory access profile. The memory access profile may be used to co-locate data near the processing unit that accesses the data, reducing memory access energy by minimizing distances to access data that is co-located with a different processing unit (i.e., remote data). Execution thread arrays and memory pages for execution of a program are partitioned across multiple processing units. The partitions are then each mapped to a specific processing unit to minimize inter-partition traffic given the processing unit physical topology.
