  • Patent number: 7502620
Abstract: A method of delta-encoding and compressing a table containing 6-byte MAC addresses is provided. The MAC addresses are sorted, a first MAC address is stored, and only the binary differences between succeeding MAC addresses are stored. A method of reading a delta-encoded and compressed MAC address table is provided. A first unencoded MAC address is read. The remaining MAC addresses are generated by successively adding stored binary differences to the result of the previous addition. A method of encoding and compressing a location table is provided. A reference latitude and longitude is selected and stored. The offsets from the reference latitude and longitude are stored for the remaining locations. A method of reading an encoded location table is provided. A stored reference latitude and longitude is read. Stored offsets are read and applied to the reference latitude and longitude to generate a set of latitude and longitude locations.

  • Patent number: 7493127
Abstract: Methods and systems of continuously optimizing data in WiFi positioning systems. A location-based services system uses WiFi-enabled devices to monitor WiFi access points in a target area to indicate whether a WiFi access point is newly-observed. A WiFi-enabled device communicates with WiFi access points within range of the WiFi-enabled device so that observed WiFi access points identify themselves. A reference database is accessed to obtain information specifying a recorded location for each observed WiFi access point in the target area. Observed WiFi access points for which the reference database has no information specifying a corresponding recorded location are identified. The recorded location information for each of the observed WiFi access points is used to calculate the position of the WiFi-enabled device. The reference database is informed of the WiFi access points (for which there was no information in the database) and is provided the calculated position in conjunction therewith.

  • Publication number: 20080275723
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for verification of claims submitted by one or more pharmacies. The systems and methods include storing a Multiple Package Edit (MPE) table that includes drug package size information, storing an audit table that includes drug dose information, and storing a user table that includes pharmacy-supplied drug information. The systems and methods also include receiving a first claim submission from a pharmacy computer, where the first claim submission includes at least one identifier, a quantity, and days supply for a requested drug. The systems and methods further include determining that the first claim submission includes an error in at least one of the quantity and days supply based upon information obtained from at least one of the user table, the MPE table, and the audit table, and messaging the pharmacy computer with an indication of the determined error.

  • Patent number: 7433694
Abstract: A location beacon database and server, method of building location beacon database, and location based service using same. Wi-Fi access points are located in a target geographical area to build a reference database of locations of Wi-Fi access points. At least one vehicle is deployed including at least one scanning device having a GPS device and a Wi-Fi radio device and including a Wi-Fi antenna system. The target area is traversed in a programmatic route to avoid arterial bias. The programmatic route includes substantially all drivable streets in the target geographical area and solves an Eulerian cycle problem of a graph represented by said drivable streets. While traversing the target area, periodically receive the GPS coordinates of the GPS device.

The programmatic route includes substantially all drivable streets in the target geographical area and solves an Eulerian cycle problem of a graph represented by said drivable streets. While traversing the target area, Wi-Fi identity information and GPS location information is detected. The location information is used to reverse triangulate the position of the detected Wi-Fi access point; and the position of the detected access point is recorded in a reference database.

  • Patent number: 7149057
Abstract: According to the present invention there is provided a head positioning suspension for a modern disc drive. The suspension has a base, a load beam, and a bend section. The load beam extends in a first plane and has a longitudinal axis extending between its first and second ends. The load beam also has a transverse axis extending perpendicular to the longitudinal axis that is also within the first plane. The bend section connects the base to one end of the load beam and includes a longitudinal axis and transverse axis parallel to each of the respective longitudinal and transverse axis of the load beam. The bend section includes a plate with a given width extending substantially within the first plane and a rail that extends across a portion of that width in a direction that is parallel to the transverse axis of the bend section. The bend section rail further extends in a direction out of the first plane.

  • Publication number: 20060206818
Abstract: A DFAQ system includes a computing device 130 and the computing device includes a reorganization module 132, a processor 134, a non-volatile memory 136 and a storage module 138 for web pages or active server pages. As a frequently asked question (FAQ) is accessed, a counter corresponding to the FAQ is incremented. The reorganization module determines the number of accesses for a plurality of FAQs after a pre-determined timeframe. The reorganization module creates a web page listing the plurality of FAQs based on the number of accesses for each of the plurality of FAQs and also based on one of an assigned default position, whether an access threshold value is reached, and weighted number of accesses.

  • Publication number: 20060070212
Abstract: A hinge includes a link with two lateral sides, and an assembly comprising a pair of side plates. Protruding from each lateral side of the link is a pair of parallel pins, and each side plate includes a pair of non-parallel guide slots. The assembly and the link are positioned such that each pin slidably engages one of the guide slots and the pins can simultaneously slide in their respective guide slots. Since the guide slots are non-parallel, when one pin is forced to slide in one direction, the other pin of the pair is forced to slide in a different direction, causing the assembly to both turn and translate with respect to the link.

  • Patent number: 7005777
Abstract: Tapered elements fabricated from a substrate of a size many times that of a single element are disclosed. Such tapered elements may be used as piezoelectric microactuators such as in-plane piezoelectric bimorph microactuators. A unique method of fabricating such tapered elements is provided. According to the method, cutting directions are first defined, the substrate is then cut a plurality of times in each cutting direction with adjacent cuts in each cutting direction indexed by proper indexing distances which are determined based on the dimensions of the final tapered elements. In one embodiment of the method, a plurality of optically detectable marks are used to define the cutting directions and cutting means is accordingly optically aligned with the cutting directions.

  • Patent number: 6956719
Abstract: A disc head slider supports a transducer relative to a moving media in a data storage system. The slider includes a slider body having a media opposing face with a leading slider edge, a trailing slider edge, a recessed area and a bearing surface formed by at least one positive pressurization area. The pressurization area is raised relative to the recessed area. A wearable airflow-blocking pad is positioned upstream of the positive pressurization area, between the positive pressurization area and the recessed area. The pad is wearable from a first height to a second, lower height relative to the positive pressurization area during normal operation of the data storage system. The airflow-blocking pad substantially disrupts fluid flow from reaching the positive pressurization area when at the first height and allows progressively increasing fluid flow to reach the positive pressurization area as the pad wears toward the second height.
