    Abstract: A method of engaging a drive system with a rotating wheel of an aircraft landing gear is disclosed. A motor is operated to apply torque to a pinion so the pinion rotates. An engagement command is issued to an actuator at an engagement time, and the actuator operates the actuator in response to the engagement command to move the pinion from a neutral position to a contact position in which it contacts a rotating driven gear at an initial contact time, the rotating driven gear being mounted to a rotating wheel of an aircraft landing gear; then after the initial contact time operating the actuator to move the pinion further to a meshing position where the pinion meshes with the driven gear. A centre-to-centre distance between the pinion and the driven gear reduces as the pinion moves to the contact position and to the meshing position.

A modeling software component operates in conjunction with a reconditioning database containing historical reconditioning cost information to generate a mathematical reconditioning cost function corresponding to a parameter value in respect of the reconditioned vehicle for a parameter set—the function correlates historical reconditioning costs with parameter values of the related reconditioned vehicle for cost records having vehicle parameters within their historical parameter sets that correspond to the vehicle parameters within an index parameter set and which will, when applied to current parameter values of a target vehicle, yield an estimated reconditioning cost for the target vehicle.     Abstract: A method of generating and honoring a time-limited net valuation guarantee for used target vehicles in purchase and trade-in transactions. A user would submit a captured parameter set of details related to at least one target vehicle to a pricing software component. The captured parameter set would be used to identify a gross value for the target vehicle as well as to generate an estimated reconditioning cost. The net valuation of the target vehicle, being the gross value less the estimated reconditioning cost, would be stored along with a calculated expiry date in a valuation record. Subsequent and before the calculated expiry date, the owner of the target vehicle could redeem the guarantee at a subscribing vehicle acquisition outlet and the subscribing vehicle acquisition outlet would honor the net valuation stored within the record.

    Abstract: The invention provides methods and systems for controlling speed of an aircraft during an autonomous pushback manoeuvre, i.e. under the aircraft's own power without a pushback tractor. The method includes applying a torque to at least one landing gear wheel of the aircraft, the torque being in a direction opposite to the backwards rolling direction of rotation of the landing gear wheel. The torque applied does not exceed a limit for ensuring aircraft longitudinal stability. For longitudinal stability the torque applied should not cause the aircraft to risk a tip-over event.
