  • Publication number: 20050206135
Abstract: An airbag handling device is disclosed. The handling device may be located adjacent mounting locations of an inflatable curtain airbag. The handling device may be a stiffening member that has a stiffness greater than that of the inflatable curtain. The handling device may also be an inflatable chamber that is inflated separately from the cushioning chamber of the inflatable curtain. The handling device may help prevent twisting of the inflatable curtain between mounting locations and aid in positioning the inflatable curtain during handling or installation into a vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20050171958
Abstract: The present invention is directed to the application of the Class of Service (CoS) feature in a directory server. The CoS feature allows user entries in a directory to be associated to service templates for multiple registered services in the directory. Once a service is registered, a CoS definition (service definition) may be created for that service under the organization entry. Once a service gets activated, an associated CoS template (service template) may be created for that service using its service definition. The template entries contain a list of shared attribute values and changes to these values get automatically applied to all the entries sharing the attribute. By creating these service definitions and templates under an organization entry, all the service privileges can be made available to all entries under the organization. Similarly, policies for resources can be defined for an organization and policy specific attributes can be made applicable to all the entries in the organization.

  • Publication number: 20050117701
Abstract: Backscatter imaging using Hadamard transform masking includes an area x-ray source with alternating, masked, Hadamard transform patterns. The total backscatter signal from a target for each pair of corresponding masks is recorded. The difference in signal strengths for each pair of corresponding masks is a direct measurement of the Hadamard transform coefficient for that mask. An image of the target is formed by performing an inverse discrete Hadamard transform on the complete matrix of coefficients.

  • Publication number: 20050110244
Abstract: An inflatable fabric cushion is disclosed that can maintain a high internal pressure while having an exposed inflator squib. The inflatable cushion has a precision opening sized to be commensurate with a diameter of the inflator squib. The precision opening tightly circumscribes the inflator to limit leakage of inflation gas when the squib projects out of the opening. The cushion also has a throat through which the inflator may be inserted into the cushion. After the inflator is inserted into the cushion, the throat is sealed closed by wrapping the throat around the inflator housing and being cinched when the airbag assembly is mounted on a vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20050103775
Abstract: The heating device includes a conductive layer which is positioned on an electrically insulative substrate. Preferably, the conductive layer is screen printed onto the substrate. The substrate is designed to limit elongation of the conductive layer, thereby improving the durability of the conductor and enabling the heating device to be used in flexible applications, such as automobile seats. The substrate can include at least one aperture passing therethough to further improve flexibility, fatigue resistance, and breathability of the heater. The conductive layer is configured to include a buss structure with a first buss ground inwardly adjacent from the periphery of the heating device and a first buss with serpentine paths extending from one edge of the heating device to another edge. The buss structure further includes a second buss with L-shaped portions positioned between the serpentine paths and the first buss ground. The second buss ground is located in a central location between the serpentine paths.

  • Publication number: 20050078801
Abstract: A computed tomography (CT) image quality phantom for use in calibrating explosive detection systems (EDS) at airports. A foam core block containing up to five right cylinder rod members is positioned in a housing member which is adapted to be passed through an airport luggage scanning machine. The rod members are of different lengths in order to create different data slices for analysis. The housing has a lead-in member at least at one end in order to allow passage through an EDS more easily and provide accurate CT calibrating.

  • Publication number: 20050079759
Abstract: A tuned RF coaxial connector for mating a coaxial transmission line includes a cylindrical outer conductor, a coupling mechanism for mating the coaxial transmission line to the substantially cylindrical outer conductor, and an inner conductor extending coaxially within cylindrical outer conductor. One end of the cylindrical outer conductor interfits with the coaxial transmission line and another end of the cylindrical outer conductor interfits with an electrical device. The connector has an open circuit inner stub where the inner conductor of the transmission line couples to the inner conductor of the connector, or an open circuit outer stub where the outer conductor of the transmission line couples to the outer body of the connector, or both. Without the need for precise fitting of the conductors of the coaxial transmission line and the connector, the invention facilitates field installation of cables and connectors while reducing implementation cost.

  • Publication number: 20050063593
Abstract: Methods, computer-readable media, and systems for facilitating detection of an object in a point cloud of three-dimensional imaging data representing an area of study where the object potentially is obscured by intervening obstacles are provided. The imaging data is processed to identify elements in the point cloud having substantially common attributes signifying that the identified elements correspond to a feature in the area of study. An isosurface is generated associating the elements having substantially common attributes. A reversed orientation visualization model for a region of interest is generated. The reversed orientation visual model exposes areas of total occlusion that potentially signify presence of the object.

  • Publication number: 20050051549
Abstract: Dual associated containers for storing and shipping goods in a primary container with complementary goods or items being in a secondary container attached to and in some cases integral with the primary container. One embodiment has a secondary container nested with the first container and sealed by a cover which engages the peripheral rims of both containers simultaneously sealing the containers. A second embodiment employs a receptacle formed on the underside of the lid that seals the primary container. The receptacle is closed by a lid that snaps around the peripheral rim of the receptacle. A third embodiment is comprised of a primary container having a secondary container formed on a lid above the primary container. The lid has a peripheral skirt that snaps on to the primary container and includes a secondary cylindrical container attached around its upper edge.
