Publication number: 20240295382Abstract: A thermal image-forming attachment for a sighting apparatus has a combiner for overlaying a generated thermal image from a display against a visible scene defined along an optical axis of the sighting apparatus, wherein the combiner intersects the optical axis between an objective lens and the visible scene. A first IR camera has a first field of view aligned with the sighting apparatus optical axis; a second IR camera has a second field of view narrower than the first field of view, aligned with the sighting apparatus optical axis. An image processor generates the thermal image on the display, wherein IR image content rendered from the second IR camera is centered within IR image content from the first IR camera. Collimating optics project the thermal image from the display toward the combiner as collimated light aligned with collimated light from the visible scene.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 20, 2024Publication date: September 5, 2024Applicant: Syntec OpticsInventors: James Olson, Alok Kapoor

Patent number: 12050052Abstract: A refrigerated carrier device that can maintain biological samples including capillary blood samples at refrigerated temperatures is described herein. The carrier includes an insulated phase change material (PCM) that can be pre-chilled to maintain biological samples at a refrigerated temperature (e.g., 2-8° C.) while the carrier is in transit and/or temporary storage protecting the samples from degradation. The use of PCM enables the temperature to be kept reliably between 2-8° C., avoiding temperature excursions, and eliminating the need for a compressor or thermoelectric device at the point of collection, which can reduce costs and risks related to heat, noise, condensation, and sample degradation due to power outages. The carrier device can be removable from a Sample Preparation system, which enables it to double as refrigerated storage at the point of collection and during transportation.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2022Date of Patent: July 30, 2024Assignee: Babson Diagnostics, Inc.Inventors: Eric Olson, Mark S. Publication number: 20240055079Abstract: A unified platform including an exosome-based method has been developed that uses only immunogenic epitopes for nanovaccine production. By eliminating these nonessential sequences from the full-length antigen, this new type of nanovaccine is safer as compared to those of existing vaccines. In addition, careful selection of targeting epitopes and incorporation of multiple epitope repeats into nanovaccine will make it more potent and precise than the traditional vaccines.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2023Publication date: February 15, 2024Inventors: Biao Lu, Joy Ku, Renceh Flojo, Christopher James Olson

Patent number: 11235160Abstract: A connector block that permits simultaneous and continuous interconnection of the three leads of the epicardial pacing wires, the pacemaker, and the ECG monitor on clear separately labeled connectors is provided. Circuitry is provided that allows the display of epicardial signals on the telemetry unit, while still preserving the ability to pace the heart from the pacemaker. When pacing the connector block prevents excessive loading of the pacer signals by the ECG monitor and/or damage to the monitor by the high-voltage pacer signals. The connector block may be used universally on all monitors without the need for sophisticated understanding of the electrical characteristics of the ECG monitor or concern for damage or improper signal loading.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2019Date of Patent: February 1, 2022Assignee: Wisconsin Alumni Research FoundationInventors: Nicholas Von Bergen, Philip Terrien, Matthew Knoespel, Connor Sheedy, James Olson, Randal Mills
