Publication number: 20120290847Abstract: An evidence collection system for reliably collecting and preserving web-based evidence. An end-user's computing device browser accesses an evidence collection web site and identifies a web resource to be collected. An evidence collection station communicates with the target web server(s) and collects the body of evidence requested. Multiple representations of the information are collected to support the defensibility of the capture. Digital signature and digital time stamp methodologies are used to enhance the forensic soundness of the captured evidence. Capture results are conveyed to the end-user along with a report that describes the evidence captured in a manner which may be utilized as evidence comprehensible to a lay judge and jury.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 9, 2011Publication date: November 15, 2012Applicant: Surety, LLCInventors: James P. Publication number: 20120089053Abstract: An ultrasonic horn for use with an ultrasonic surgical hand piece including a resonator comprises a contacting annulus having a plurality of angled lands. The lands are alternated around the annulus such that adjacent lands have opposite angles. As a result of the adjacent angled lands, a shear stress field is developed in contacted tissue due to the promotion of refracted longitudinal ultrasonic waves propagating in different directions at the interface to the coupled tissue. The shear stress field enhances the fragmentation and removal rate of fibrous, elastic, and tenacious tissue. The horn is hollow permitting suction to be applied to the tissue for controlling tissue contact with the lands.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2011Publication date: April 12, 2012Applicant: INTEGRA LIFESCIENCES (IRELAND) LTD.Inventors: Daniel J. Cotter, Saurav V. Gupta, Matthew F. Shinopulos, James P. O'Connor

Patent number: 8012159Abstract: The present invention makes a grid array, for use in the transplantation of materials into the brain, in the shape of a predetermined structure, such as the putamen, based on anatomic analysis the structure. Alternatively, a smaller grid array is used which only includes the putamen target and not the caudate target, and also has two windows within the grid array. Because of the smaller size of this grid array as well as the two cutouts in the middle, it is possible for the first time to observe the brain as the needle enters the brain through the grid array. The previous solid and larger grid array made the passage of the needle into the brain a blind maneuver. Therefore if there was cortical bleeding at the time of needle insertion, it would not be known until after the transplant was done.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2005Date of Patent: September 6, 2011Assignee: University of South FloridaInventors: Thomas B. Freeman, James P. O'Connor

Patent number: 7635138Abstract: An integrated rear suspension assembly is fixedly secured to a transmission case, rear wheel carriers and frame rails of a motor vehicle. The integrated rear suspension assembly includes a plurality of trailing arms having first and second ends. Each of the first ends is secured to one of the frame rails and each of the second ends is secured to each of the rear wheel carriers. A plurality of control arms is pivotally secured to each of the plurality of trailing arms for controlling the plurality of trailing arms. A compound link member having opposing ends is attached to each of the plurality of trailing arms. The integrated rear suspension assembly also includes a transmission cross member that is fixedly secured to each of the frame rails.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2004Date of Patent: December 22, 2009Assignee: Magna International, Inc.Inventors: Christian Imre, James P. Publication number: 20090105725Abstract: A stereotactic head frame localizer having a plurality of fiducial rods disposed in a plurality of sides is disclosed. The stereotactic head frame localizer includes five connected sides with each side including a plurality of the fiducial rods. One of the sides may be removably attached to the stereotactic head frame localizer. The fiducial rods include a material or may be formed from a material that, in cooperation with a selected imaging modality (i.e. CT, MRI, or PET), will appear on the resulting image scan as image points. The fiducial rods may be disposed in an orientation that is horizontal, vertical, or diagonal to an axis of a body of a patient. The stereotactic head frame localizer may be used in cooperation with a head ring attached to a patient for determining the location of a target in an x, y, and z coordinate system.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2005Publication date: April 23, 2009Applicant: INTEGRA RADIONICS, INC.Inventors: James P. Publication number: 20070187061Abstract: A shot tube for the introduction of molten metal into a die cavity has a casing with a first end, a second end and a bore extending through the casing. The first end is adapted to be connected to the die cavity and a sleeve protrudes from the second end of the casing. The sleeve has a pour opening for the introduction of molten metal. A hard lubricious coating may also be applied to the interior surface of the shot tube to reduce sticking of cooled metal within the shot tube. A method for producing the shot tube described above is also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 13, 2006Publication date: August 16, 2007Applicant: Kennametal Inc.Inventors: David R. Patent number: 6416520Abstract: A probe is connected to a probe carrier that is positioned with respect to the body of a patient. The probe is moved into or out of the body incrementally by means of a driver mechanism and flexible coupler. The flexible coupler in one embodiment comprises a flexible sheath with a flexible driver shaft that can be passed within the flexible sheath and can be rotated or pushed forward and backward with respect to the sheath by a driver element thereby causing translational movement of probe. Several forms of probes, flexible coupling elements, and driver apparatus as well as methods of applications accommodate specific objectives.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2000Date of Patent: July 9, 2002Assignee: Sherwood Services AGInventors: Lutz T. Kynast, William Rittman, James P. O'Connor, Michael Cundari, Eric Cosman

Patent number: 6098437Abstract: A hydroformed control arm for a vehicle and a method of making the same is provided. The control arm includes a generally U-shaped member being hydroformed from a continuous, unitary tube. The generally U-shaped member includes varying cross-sectional areas along its length for improved structural integrity. The generally U-shaped member further includes a pair of pivot bores for enabling the control arm to pivot about a pivot axis. The U-shaped member still further including a ball joint cavity disposed near its apex for receiving a ball joint. The hydroformed control arm thereby eliminates the need for a ball joint bushing.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 1998Date of Patent: August 8, 2000Assignee: The Budd CompanyInventors: Bruce D.
