  • Publication number: 20220031052
Abstract: A phone tethering device for tethering a phone to a user to deter droppage and loss of the phone includes a first fastener, which is engaged to a phone case, and second fastener, which is engaged to a tether. The second fastener is complementary to the first fastener and thus is positioned to selectively engage the first fastener to removably engage the tether to the phone case. A connector, which is engaged to the tether distal from the second fastener, can engage the tether to a user, an article engaged to the user, or an item in possession of the user, to tether the phone case and a phone positioned in the phone case to the user, the article, or the item. The tether deters droppage and loss of the phone case and a phone positioned in the phone case. The tether also facilitates carrying of the phone without use of a pocket.

  • Publication number: 20220015339
Abstract: A system for controlling population of a biological species includes a population of genetically-modified individuals of the biological species, where both males and females in the genetically-modified population carry two mutations. The first mutation is a repressible genetic mutation that results in death of a juvenile individual of the first sex when the juvenile individual of the first sex comprises the repressible lethal mutation and is reared in the absence of a repressor or causes an individual to be sterile when reared in the absence of a repressor. The second mutation is an underdominant genetic mutation.

  • Publication number: 20210278133
Abstract: A material drying system provides for consistent and efficient drying of organic materials, such as cannabis. In certain embodiments, a partial vacuum drying system is used to dry the materials and includes a container, a heating system, a depressurization system, and a control system. Air in the container is heated to within a range of temperatures and a low vacuum is applied to assist with evaporation. In addition, the volume flow rate of air pulled out of the container is monitored and maintained at a predetermined rate, which pulls moisture away from the materials so as to prevent degradation of the materials during the drying process while also reducing drying time. A relatively high air volume flow rate is maintained at low pressure by adjusting the area of an opening in the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20210207886
Abstract: A material drying system, method, and control system therefor that provides for consistent and efficient drying of various materials is disclosed. In certain embodiments, a vacuum kiln can use various temperature measurements to reduce the chance of overheating the materials. In certain embodiments, a vacuum kiln (or a control system therefore) can use sensed information, such as the temperature differential across a platen assembly or the duty cycle of a vacuum pump, to determine when a large group of material has reached a substantially uniform dryness level. In certain embodiments, a vacuum kiln as disclosed herein can reduce checking, splitting, over-drying, and under-drying of material without requiring parameters from a user.

  • Patent number: 10850149
Abstract: A workout apparatus is designed to connect to an equipment member and engage with hands of the user to facilitate the performance of isometric and dynamic exercises. The workout apparatus includes a bearing having an inner race and an outer race operably connected together and able to permit rotational movement of the inner race, a pair of grip members coupled to opposing sides of the inner race of the bearing, and a bracket coupled to the outer race of the bearing. The bracket allows attachment of the equipment member thereto. The pair of grip members is designed to engage with the hands of the user to facilitate the performance of an isometric exercise. Rotational movement of the pair of grip members and movement of the workout apparatus as permitted by the equipment member facilitate the performance of a dynamic exercise.
