  • Patent number: 5037123
Abstract: A hitch device adapted to be mounted on a draft vehicle for towing a trailer vehicle having a tongue with a latch pin hole, including a rearward biased yoke member normally engaging and retaining a downward biased latch pin in an elevated armed position. When the draft vehicle is moved rearward toward the tongue, the yoke member is engaged and thrust forward by the tongue to release the latch pin which is thrust downward through the aligned latch pin hole in the tongue. Remote-control means are provided for elevating the latch pin in order to unlatch the draft tongue.

  • Patent number: 5016997
Abstract: A partially segmented deformable mirror is formed with a mirror plate having a smooth and continuous front surface and a plurality of actuators to its back surface. The back surface is divided into triangular areas which are mutually separated by grooves. The grooves are deep enough to make the plate deformable and the actuators for displacing the mirror plate in the direction normal to its surface are inserted in the grooves at the vertices of the triangular areas. Each actuator includes a transducer supported by a receptacle with outer shells having outer surfaces. The vertices have inner walls which are approximately perpendicular to the mirror surface and make planar contacts with the outer surfaces of the outer shells. The adhesive which is used on these contact surfaces tends to contract when it dries but the outer shells can bend and serve to minimize the tendency of the mirror to warp.

  • Patent number: 5009496
Abstract: An eyeglasses and headgear combination is disclosed. The eyeglasses may be worn alone or in combination with the headgear. The temple member of the eyeglasses is alternatively positionable behind the ear of the user or attached to the headgear. When the temple is attached to the headgear, the temple extends outward from the front of the eyeglasses at an angle different than when the temple is positioned behind the ear of the user. This provides maximum comfort for the user in both positions. The coupling to which the temple is attached may be pivoted to move the eyeglass lenses out of the user's field of vision and rest them on his head or headgear.

  • Patent number: 4821624
Abstract: A stroke limiter for a hydraulic cylinder comprises two sleeve portions each having a channel located therein that are frictionally mounted to the piston rod adjacent to the piston. An elongated contactor is slidably received in each of the channels. The contactor is longer than the sleeve portion and extends past the bottom of the sleeve. The top of the sleeve is provided with a cutout portion which is adjacent to the contactor and provides a hydraulic fluid flow path from the piston mounted poppet valves. When the contactor contacts the end cap of the cylinder, the contactor slides upwardly in the sleeve and contacts the poppet valves in the cylinder unseating the valves and creating a hydraulic fluid flow path across the piston.

  • Patent number: 4597110
Abstract: A panty-type undergarment comprising a waistband connected to a body segment having front and back panels which terminate at leg openings, with a crotch segment located between the leg openings and a crotch opening situated between the leg openings and separating the crotch segment and the front panel along an edge of each extending generally parallel to the waistband, wherein the front panel adjacent to the crotch opening has first fastener means and the crotch segment adjacent to the crotch opening has second fastener means releasably engageable with the first fastener means so that the wearer can selectively open and close the crotch opening of the undergarment by selectively peeling apart and pressing together the first and second fastener means.

  • Patent number: 4589584
Abstract: Flexible flat ribbon cables with a polyester binder silver particle conductive ink deposited on a heat bondable substrate are bonded to each other or to rigid circuit boards by applying ultrasonic energy to the cables. The conductors are bonded to form connections and are prevented from being deformed laterally to bridge to adjacent conductors due to preferential substrate bonding between adjacent conductors. Both apparatus for and the method of preferential substrate bonding is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4578828
Abstract: A novel and useful pants-type outergarment having a crotch opening and a padded fly attached to the interior of the outergarment on one side to the crotch opening seam line, beginning at a front placket of the outergarment and extending to the back waistband. First fastener means are provided on one side of the padded fly to cooperate with and releasably engage second fastener means provided on the inner thigh seam line adjacent to the crotch opening so that, when the two fastener means are engaged with each other, the padded fly cannot roll up while the garment is being worn, and third fastener means are provided to selectively close together and open apart the opposite sides of the crotch opening.

  • Patent number: 4449432
Abstract: A rotary saw cutoff device for use on an automatic screw machine without the need to sacrifice a working station to accommodate the device, and which is narrower than a standard cutoff tool to reduce the waste loss due to cutoff. The working area of the cutoff device presents a slender profile to permit the device to be movable into and out of the working area of the automatic screw machine without interfering with the other parts of the machine. The saw blade is positioned at the outer edge of a frame in which it is rotatably supported, and it is driven through a gear train by an hydraulic motor. A driven gear is drivingly connected to the saw blade and is supported in bearings, one of which is positioned in a recess formed in one face of the gear.

  • Patent number: 4320544
Abstract: A hand held tool for installing a threaded fastener in which the tool is adapted for use solely as a drill bit, solely as a screwdriver, and as a combination thereof, wherein the threaded fastener has a central bore extending therethrough. Extension of the drill bit beyond the end of the screwdriver blade may be selectively controlled, and the drill bit may be maintained in its entirety within the shaft of the screwdriver when not in use to thereby preserve the sharpness of the drill bit. A unique locking collar is also provided.
