Patent number: 8721511Abstract: A reformer exercise apparatus is disclosed that has a generally rectangular frame. The rail portions of the frame each have an upright outer wall, an integral downwardly slanted inner wall and a hidden outwardly open slot therein between the outer and inner walls. A foot bar support assembly movably carried by each of the outwardly open slots supports the foot bar. Each foot bar support assembly has an elongated slide plate movably supported within the slot, a hook plate fastened to the slide plate, and a foot bar support arm rotatably and slidably fastened to the hook plate. A pair of tubular risers each having an upper roller therein at the head end of the frame direct arm cord ends to a cord retraction assembly mounted on the carriage. Publication number: 20120323177Abstract: An automatic injection apparatus including a delay mechanism for properly delivering medication prior to the needled syringe of the apparatus being retracted. In one form, the delay mechanism includes a shuttle (170) for the syringe, a follower (250), a locking member, a damping compound between the follower and a supporting surface (308) to dampen rotation of the follower relative to the shuttle, and a dual functioning biasing member (290) acting between the shuttle and the follower. When the locking member moves to a release position during an injection, the dual functioning biasing member first provides a torsional force to force the follower to rotate relative to the shuttle from a latching position to an unlatching position, and then the dual functioning biasing member provides an axial force to force the shuttle axially relative to the follower to move the shuttle for retracting the syringe needle into the housing of the apparatus after injection.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2011Publication date: December 20, 2012Applicant: ELI LILLY AND COMPANYInventors: Matthew Robert Adams, Jesse Arnold Fourt, Jonathan I. Patent number: 7644991Abstract: A chair for offices and the like includes at least one armrest that can be folded from a generally upright position to a folded position and visa-versa. The folding mechanism has a thin profile, thereby minimizing the thickness of the armrest and providing an aesthetically pleasing appearance. A cover for the armrest includes an elastic material that stretches to accommodate folding, and also contracts to reduce or eliminate wrinkles. The folding mechanism may bias the armrest to the folded position to overcome forces generated by stretching of the cover when the armrest is folded.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 2006Date of Patent: January 12, 2010Assignee: Steelcase Inc.Inventors: Judy G. Publication number: 20090322647Abstract: A method and apparatus for deploying a multi-element antenna system on a portable television signal processing apparatus. The system utilizes a plurality of spring loaded racks engaged in a pinion restrained by a rotational damper and a manual release mechanism. Each individual rack is attached to a rotational mechanism used to rotate an antenna element around an axis. The springs are compressed when the antenna is in its stored state and released via the manual release mechanism. The released rack and pinion system biases a plurality of rotational mechanisms which respectively extend the antenna elements into their deployed configuration.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2006Publication date: December 31, 2009Inventors: Michael Joseph Shawver, Jesse Arnold Fourt, James R. Patent number: 7302982Abstract: A label applicator including a support surface having a central area and curving downwardly from the central area. A post assembly extends up from the central area such that a label having a label through-hole can be positioned in a support position generally on the support surface with the post assembly extending up through the label through-hole and an adhesive face of the label facing up. Thereby an article having an article through-hole can be positioned over the post assembly so that a flat surface of the article can be pressed and guided against the adhesive face of the positioned label. The curved surface flattens out as the article is pressed down, allowing the label to be smoothly applied to the article. Pins extending up adjacent to the support surface engage in notches on the label and help hold the label in place.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2003Date of Patent: December 4, 2007Assignee: Avery Dennison CorporationInventors: Thomas Wien, James R.
