  • Publication number: 20020162631
Abstract: A label applicator including a support surface having a central area and curving downwardly from the central area. A post assembly extends up from the central area such that a label having a label through-hole can be positioned in a support position generally on the support surface with the post assembly extending up through the label through-hole and an adhesive face of the label facing up. Thereby an article having an article through-hole can be positioned over the post assembly so that a flat surface of the article can be pressed and guided against the adhesive face of the positioned label. The curved surface flattens out as the article is pressed down, allowing the label to be smoothly applied to the article. Pins extending up adjacent to the support surface engage in notches on the label and help hold the label in place.

  • Patent number: 6336414
Abstract: A table construction includes a base having a pair of legs secured together by a transverse beam, and a tabletop pivoted to a top of the legs for movement between a horizontal use position and a vertical storage position. A pair of support arms are pivoted to the top of the legs for selectively holding the tabletop in the horizontal use position. The support arms are spring-biased and pivoted at an angle so that they counterbalance a weight of the tabletop during its pivotal movement. Ganging connectors on opposite ends of the tabletop automatically interconnect adjacent tables upon pushing adjacent tables together. The legs each include first and second castings that bolt together and that are arranged to matably nest when tables are moved together for storage. A utility raceway structure attached to the base includes a frame that defines upper and lower chambers and further includes upper and lower lockable doors providing separate access to the upper and lower chambers, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5856910
Abstract: The processor card assembly of the present invention includes a processor card, a thermal plate and a cover with locking latches. The thermal plate and the cover form a case for housing the processor card. The locking latches are used to latch the processor card assembly to a retention apparatus for securing the processor card assembly, such that the processor card will remain connected to a receiving connector of a motherboard, under a variety of shock and vibration conditions. In some embodiments, the complementary fastening features of the thermal plate and the cover are temper resistance.

  • Patent number: 5829601
Abstract: An apparatus for retaining a processor card of a processor card assembly in a connected position including a first and a second retention arm having a first and a second window respectively for accepting a first and a second latch of the processor card assembly for latching the processor card assembly to the apparatus. Each retention arm further includes a first and a second support and fastening feature disposed at opposite sides of a bottom end of the retention arm. Each support and fastening feature includes at least one capturing arm for capturing in place a threaded bushing for accepting a threaded fastener for fastening the apparatus to the motherboard.

  • Patent number: 5281958
Abstract: A pointing device which is removably attachable to a keyboard is disclosed. The pointing device is coupled to an attachment assembly, the attachment assembly being removably and selectively attachable to the keyboard. The attachment assembly includes a coupling assembly and a tilting assembly. The full weight of the pointing device is supported by the computer so that a work surface is not necessary. In one embodiment, a clamping assembly is provided. The clamp assembly includes a variable width clamp to permit the pointing device to be attached to any one of a number of different keyboards or in different positions on the same keyboard. The tilting assembly permits the user to select whether the pointing device is in a horizontal, vertical or other orientation. A rotatable ball of the pointing device is retained in contact with the rotation sensing encoders regardless of the orientation of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5175672
Abstract: A case for electronic components of a computer has a base section and a central section hinged together along a pivot axis. The base section provides a base compartment for first electronic components and may rest on a support surface. The central section provides a central compartment for second electronic components and has a front face with a display panel. The hinge structure is positioned so that, in a closed position, the base section is folded against the back of the central section. In an open position, the central section is elevated at an angle to the support surface with the base section extending rearwardly of the pivot axis which is located proximately to the intersection of the top and front walls of the base section. A cover may be secured to cover the display, and this cover can include a keyboard input for the computer. The keyboard/cover may also be releasably securable to the base section.

  • Patent number: 4944481
Abstract: An adjustable monitor stand for pivoting a monitor about a horizontal axis which is relatively simple to operate and which does not require great effort to adjust is provided. The stand includes a base, a platform for holding the monitor, and a hinge interconnecting the base and the platform. The hinge includes a torsion spring selected with regard to the mass of the monitor and the distance of its center of gravity from the axis so that the gravitational torque produced as the monitor is pivoted with the platform about the horizontal axis is always substantially balanced by the restoring torque generated by the spring. The stand therefore requires very little effort to adjust.

  • Patent number: 4874186
Abstract: A paper sheets binding system utilizes a two-part connector including a headed bifurcated inner ratcheted post binding member and a headed pawls-containing locking collar which is ratcheted down over the post member legs to cinch the heads either directly around punch-hole apertures in a paper sheets stack or against a pair of longitudinal binding strips on opposite marginal edges of the stack, with or without an affixed paper sheets cover. The post legs and pawls on the binding member and locking collar, respectively, are offset from the center of their heads so that upon assembly on a paper sheets stack to be bound, the connector element heads are asymmetric with respect to the apertures in the punch-hole paper stack. This allows the connector to better withstand asymmetric loading which is present when a book is purposely opened or accidentally dropped.
