  • Publication number: 20060127192
Abstract: A deburring tool includes a blade having a cutting head portion, an anchor portion, and a retention spring. An arbor is adapted to removably mount the blade such that the head portion of the blade is adapted to be elevated a predetermined distance from the arbor in an unstressed condition of the blade. The blade is sufficiently resiliently yieldable such that the head portion of the blade can move inwardly relative to the arbor during deburring operations. A holder is adapted to mount the arbor and an adjustment member adapted to operatively engage the anchor portion of the blade. The anchor portion of the blade is adapted to move in response to adjustment of the adjustment member in a direction substantially opposite that of the head portion and flex to elevate the head portion relative to the arbor for deburring operations or recess the head portion relative to the arbor.

  • Publication number: 20060071900
Abstract: A field sequential liquid crystal display maintains its white colour point through compensation values to at least one colour light emitting diode that illuminates the display. The compensation values may be impedances to control the current or pulsing of the current source according to a pulse width modulation technique. A degradation curve may be used to calculate extrapolate the theoretical forward voltage of the light emitting diode. Additional complexity arises from the need for calculating uptime for multiple light emitting diodes of different colours. Brightness levels may also be factored in.

  • Publication number: 20060056197
Abstract: A hot spot filter for a light guide is created by taking an image of the light output pattern of an illuminated light guide. The hot spot filter may be a film, a layer, or an additional liquid crystal display dedicated to attenuating bright spots from the light guide. The hot spot filter may be incorporated into the image display by adjusting the grey scale of individual pixels to provide sufficient compensation.

  • Publication number: 20060037444
Abstract: A system and method for sealing a live center is provided. The live center has a spindle disposed, at least in part, within a housing, bearings provide a rolling connection between the spindle and the housing, and a labyrinth seal is mounted to at least one of the spindle and the housing and is configured to reduce an amount of contaminant from entering the housing. A method of sealing a live center is also provided. In some embodiments of the invention, the method includes restricting a fluid path along a spindle, defining the fluid path to have a labyrinth section, providing a drain to the outside of the live center for fluid moving along the path and substantially blocking the path of the resilient seal.

  • Publication number: 20060024575
Abstract: A sealed battery pack is provided that prevents liquid, dust and gas from compromising the reliability of the rechargeable cell and circuitry disposed within the pack. A rechargeable cell and printed circuit board are coupled together and are placed into a five sided housing. In one embodiment, one of the sides is longer that the others to accommodate electrical contacts for coupling to a host device. Once the cell/board assembly is positioned in the housing, plastic is drawn through the housing using an insert molding process to seal and encapsulate the cell and board within the housing. The seal provided by the insert molding process ensures that liquid, gas and dust do not penetrate the pack.
