  • Publication number: 20080195506
Abstract: A purchase request system efficiently procures goods and services by recognizing purchase authority levels of users within an enterprise, division, or project team. Administrators establish authority levels to ensure that purchase requests within a user's authority level are automatically processed and submitted to vendors for fulfillment of orders, while purchase requests beyond a user's authority level are routed according to a determined protocol. Determined protocols include routing the purchase request to a designated user with a different authority level for disposition, rejection of the purchase request, or modification of the purchase request in accordance with the determined protocol. Users may select from multiple payment methods to complete a purchase transaction and may access the purchasing system in real time to determine the status of an order at any point in the life cycle of the purchase request, from submission of the request to payment for received goods and services.

  • Patent number: 7250038
Abstract: A fixed needle syringe has a syringe barrel with its distal portion modified to accept a needle protective housing. In particular, the distal portion is formed with the a groove dimensioned to accept a collar that is attached to the housing. The inside surface of the collar is provided with a number of flanges that fit within the groove formed at the distal portion of the syringe barrel of the fixed needle syringe. Protrusions are provided at the inside surface of the collar to frictionally act against the syringe barrel, so that the needle protective housing does not freely rotate, but is rotatable relative to the syringe barrel by the application of a predetermined torque to either the collar or the housing attached thereto. An internal hook is provided in the housing to grasp the needle of the syringe, when the housing is pivoted to cover the needle extending from the needle hub of the syringe.

  • Patent number: 6968556
Abstract: Automatic message-based module invocation within a transactional message system is described. The modules can be software components, executable program files, etc. In one embodiment, a system includes one or more queues, a trigger store, and a trigger service. Each queue is capable of receiving messages. The trigger store includes one or more triggers, where each trigger is associated with a queue, and has associated therewith one or more rules, where each rule has a condition and an action. The trigger service is designed to, upon receipt of a message in a queue, check the condition of each rule of each trigger associated with the queue, to determine if the message satisfies the rule's condition. If such satisfaction occurs, then the action of the rule is performed, which can include invocation of a module. The rules may be short-circuit rules, non-destructive rules, and/or destructive rules, and may be checked in either a concurrent or serial manner.
