  • Patent number: 7840816
Abstract: A method of identifying material which includes the step of inserting an identifying code into a signal as a watermark, and deriving a signature from the material. The code and signature are stored in a database. The watermarked signal may be distributed and/or transmitted through a network. The signal may be processed in the network. A monitor derives from the received signal, the signature and the code. The derived signature and the derived code are compared with the stored signature and code to check the provenance of the material. • Patent number: 7752764
Abstract: An automatic apparatus for leveling suspended articles or hung objects to an angle relative to a reference. The shift lever assembly (112), used as a gravity reference, is activated when the pendulum member swings horizontally in response to slightest inclination or tilt, thereby causing the conductor pin (114.14) to contact one side of a pair of conductor plates (114.24b) or (114.24b). The contacting of the conductor pin to one side of the pair of conductor plates (114.24b) or (114.24b) completes the electrical circuit and allows the electrical storage device (118) to provide electrical current to the planetary motor (116), causing it to rotate. The turning of the planetary motor (116) causes the shift lever assembly (112) to automatically shift the elongated lever arm (112.10) against the rigid axle (122.22), thereby shifting the center of balance of the object in the opposite direction of the rotation of the wheel-like driven gear (112.20). Leveling occurs when the elongated lever arm (112.

  • Publication number: 20100159506
Abstract: Methods for determining genetic status of a fetus from a sample of maternal blood comprise enriching nucleated red blood cells in the sample, including both fetal and maternal nucleated red blood cells. The nucleated red blood cells are then differentiated from all other blood cells in the enriched sample, and the nucleated red blood cells genetically screened to determine the genetic status. The nucleated red blood cells may be differentiated by immobilizing all enriched blood cells on a solid phase and locating the nucleated red blood cells for interrogation. Optionally, the nucleated red blood cells may be sorted and separated from other enriched blood cells in a liquid phase.
