  • Publication number: 20240074001
Abstract: An aerosol delivery device having a detachable power source is provided. A control body may be coupleable with a cartridge to form an aerosol delivery device. The cartridge may contain an aerosol precursor composition and be equipped with a heating element configured to activate and vaporize components of the aerosol precursor composition. The control body may comprise a housing and a power source detachably coupled to an outer surface of the housing. A control component may be contained within the housing and configured to operate in an active mode in which the control body is coupled with the cartridge. The control component in the active mode may be configured to direct power from the power source to the heating element to activate and vaporize components of the aerosol precursor composition.

  • Patent number: 11739561
Abstract: An electronic door lock is operable to control access to an access controlled area adjacent the inner side of a door. The door lock includes an outer base, an inner base, a locking mechanism movable between a locked and unlocked position in response to a control signal, and a control circuit disposed within the inner base and operable to generate the control signal in response to the presentation of an input credential. A plurality of different types of credential readers are each selectively attachable and removable from an attachment interface when the outer base is attached to the door to electrically connect the selected one of the plurality of different types of credential readers to the control circuit. The selected credential reader receives data from a user or credential and generates the input credential. A communication module is operable to communicate with a device separate from the electronic door lock.

  • Publication number: 20220096987
Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for filter racks for blower coil units. An example filter rack for a blower coil unit includes a frame. The frame includes a rear frame structure, a front frame structure coupled to and spaced apart from the rear frame structure to define a slot that is configured to house a filter for filtering air flowing from a blow coil unit, and a side extending between the front frame structure and the rear frame structure. The side defines a first opening to the slot to enable the filter to be inserted into and removed from the slot. The example filter rack also includes a magnet fixed along the side and a panel configured to couple to the side via the magnet. The panel securely encloses the filter within the slot when coupled to the side and provides access to the slot when decoupled from the side.

  • Publication number: 20210239344
Abstract: An annunciation system for an HVAC fan coil unit is disclosed, comprising: (a) a housing having a front panel defining an opening for maintenance of a component inside the housing; (b) spaced apart LED's arranged in a row on a substrate that is mounted horizontally on the front panel adjacent to the opening; (d) a door mounted offset to the front panel and covering the opening and the LED's; and (e) an electronic controller coupled to memory. The electronic controller is configured to automatically energize predetermined ones of the LED's to emit light. Light emitted from the energized LED's is deflected by the door onto exposed portions of the front panel to cast an indirectly visible glow indicative of a status, condition, or fault of the HVAC fan coil unit.

  • Patent number: 9643828
Abstract: Disclosed is a beverage dispenser having a plurality of non-linear dispensing sides each having a dispensing station of a dimension suitable to comfortably accommodate a user/operator. Each dispensing station is of a dimension narrower than that of a dispensing station of a conventional dispenser. The beverage dispenser of the present disclosure allows for variations and flexibility in the shape of the unit, and a user-friendly touch screen accommodates one or more concurrent users/operators, while also allowing a choice of various beverage selections. The touch screen provides a user interface that may be configured for use by a restaurant employee and/or self-service applications. In addition, the user friendly touchscreen interface also facilitates the use of ADA compliant controls. The beverage dispenser of the present disclosure also allows for “banking” of multiple units into a “kiosk” type formation.

  • Patent number: 9555516
Abstract: A method for beveling a thin glass plate by simultaneously grinding an edge of the glass using multiple abrasive cup wheels, wherein the edge of the glass plate is extended from the fixturing device. The extension of the glass plate allows the glass plate to bend in response to forces applied by the abrasive cup wheels, thereby reducing the sensitivity of the grinding process to variations in position of the abrasive wheels. The axes of rotation of the abrasive wheels are separated by a distance selected to prevent deflection in the glass plate caused by a first abrasive wheel to influence the deflection in the glass plate caused by a second (adjacent) abrasive wheel.

  • Patent number: 9346659
Abstract: Disclosed is a hybrid beverage dispenser that can be configured in a number of flexible arrangements, providing the opportunity for a configurable beverage dispensing “station” having a variable “footprint”. The hybrid beverage dispenser may have “on board” refrigeration and/or heating system for providing both hot and cold beverages from the same dispenser. A remote chiller may provide chilled syrups for the beverages. Also disclosed is a countertop hybrid beverage dispensing unit for situations where limited space is an issue. Also disclosed is a hybrid beverage dispenser that provides the ability to dispense from one dispenser beverages which usually are dispensed from separate dispensers. The countertop unit possesses the same beverage dispensing flexibility; however, all ingredients are remotely chilled and pumped to the point of dispensing.

  • Patent number: RE47216
Abstract: A system for selectively disabling use of at least selected features of a stand-alone electronic device under a predetermined set of conditions. The system establishes a state of the set of conditions as being satisfied or unsatisfied, communicates the state to the electronic device, and disables the selected features if the state is satisfied. In one embodiment, the system may be advantageously be used to prevent vehicular accidents by at least partially disabling non-emergency use of a wireless telephone in a moving vehicle. In another embodiment, the system may be used to disable features of an electronic device within a predetermined area having a boundary that is independent of a communications network cell.
