Publication number: 20090312648Abstract: A medical imaging system adaptively acquires anatomical images. The system includes a synchronization processor for providing a heart rate related synchronization signal derived from a patient cardiac function blood flow related parameter. The synchronization signal enables adaptive variation in timing of acquisition within successive heart cycles of each individual image frame of multiple sequential image frames. An image acquisition device initiates acquisition of anatomical images of a portion of patient anatomy in response to the synchronization signal. A display processor presents images, acquired by the acquisition device and synchronized with the synchronization signal, to a user on a reproduction device. The image acquisition device adaptively selects image pixel resolution of individual image frames of the multiple sequential image frames in response to data identifying a heart cycle segment so that successively acquired image frames have different image pixel resolution within a single heart cycle.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 10, 2009Publication date: December 17, 2009Applicant: Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc.Inventors: Hongxuan Zhang, Harold James Wade, Jinghua Chan

Publication number: 20090253538Abstract: A pair of interlocking batting gloves which may be worn by a batter during practice and during play to improve the batter's grip on the bat. A first of the two gloves in which each glove has a disc magnet attached to the outer peripheral edge of the index finger and a second of the two gloves has a polar opposite magnet attached to the outer peripheral edge of the little finger. The magnets thus positioned connect and lock together providing the proper grip for the batter, aligning the middle knuckles of the left and right hands. The attractive magnetic force will connect the gloves when the magnets overlap their magnetic fields, thus eliminating the need for the batter to have previous knowledge of how to grip the bat correctly. The magnetic connection draws the left and right hand together aligning the middle knuckles of the left and right hand forming proper grip for swinging a bat.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 3, 2009Publication date: October 8, 2009Inventor: Patrick James Wade TRUE

Publication number: 20090198300Abstract: A system provides early prediction of heart tissue malfunction and electrophysiological pathology by determining anatomical tissue impedance characteristics for use in medical patient monitoring and treatment decision making. At least one repository of data indicates multiple predetermined expected impedance value ranges for corresponding multiple impedance measurements taken at multiple particular different sites of at least one anatomical organ. An impedance measurement processor automatically determines whether multiple measured impedance values taken at multiple particular different sites of an anatomical organ using an invasive catheter are within corresponding multiple predetermined expected impedance value ranges derived from the at least one repository. An output processor automatically communicates data comprising at least one message to a destination.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2009Publication date: August 6, 2009Applicant: Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc.Inventors: Hongxuan Zhang, Detlef W. Publication number: 20090168861Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system are provided for computing link supportability in a WCDMA communications system. For example, the method can be used to calculate link supportability of a transponder in satellite communications system (e.g. MUOS) in a user-to-base direction. This method can include expressing a carrier signal to noise ratio spectral density for a communication link of interest in terms of a transponder input power of the communication link of interest, a spectral overlap factor representative of one or more interfering communication links, and a transponder input power of the one or more interfering communication links. Assumptions and approximations can be made to simplify the spectral density expression in order to reduce a dimensionality of terms used in the computation of the expression. As such, in reducing dimensionality, the expression becomes a manageable computation for WCDMA communication systems to evaluate.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2008Publication date: July 2, 2009Applicant: The MITRE CorporationInventor: James Wade MARSHALL

Patent number: 5438813Abstract: An improved ceramic fiber module for installation a high temperature furnace. The module is made from ceramic fiber mats having hot and cold faces. The module includes a tine which impales each of the mats in a plane generally parallel to the hot and cold faces. The tine receives a threaded stud through its central opening. The module is welded to the interior wall of the furnace. The tine is thereafter forced downwardly toward the wall of the furnace to pull the module against the interior wall of the furnace thereby enveloping the stud within the module and compressing the mats of the module against the interior wall.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1993Date of Patent: August 8, 1995Assignee: A.
