  • Patent number: 12635948
Abstract: Physiological monitoring systems, apparatuses and methods are disclosed. In an embodiment, a system includes an umbilical cord clamp having a sensor and a base station. The clamp is moveable between an open position and a clamped position in which the sensor contacts the umbilical cord to sense a physiological parameter of a neonate. The base station is operable to transmit an interrogation signal wirelessly to the sensor, and in response to the interrogation signal, receive a response signal wirelessly that is indicative of the sensed physiological parameter.

A further insulating layer can surround the second electrically conductive layer. The first electrically conductive layer, the insulating layer, and the second electrically conductive layer can form a structure which has a first side and a second side disposed opposite to the first side with respect to the lumen, where the first side can be longer than the second side thereby forming a sharp pointed end via the first side at a distal-most portion.

  • Publication number: 20240382418
Abstract: The invention provides gastric residence systems, or components of gastric residence system such as segments or elongate members of gastric residence systems, with release rate-modulating films and methods for making and using such systems. The release rate-modulating films provide good control over release of agents (such as therapeutic, diagnostic, or nutritional agents) present in the gastric residence system. The films also permit higher drug loading in the gastric residence systems and components of gastric residence systems while maintaining good control over release of agents. Some embodiments of the films can provide resistance against burst release of agent upon exposure to alcohol.

  • Publication number: 20240156352
Abstract: A method of delivering a substance to a target location of a subject using an insertion apparatus having a base structure with at least one lumen extending along a length thereof, a cladding layer circumferentially surrounding the base structure and an optically-transmissive coating circumferentially surrounding an exterior of the base layer or an exterior of the cladding layer. The method includes inserting the insertion apparatus into the subject to access the target location, transmitting to tissue adjacent the insertion apparatus, a first optical radiation using the optically-transmissive coating or the cladding layer, receiving, from the tissue, at a processor, data characterizing a second optical radiation via the other of the optically-transmissive coating or the cladding layer based on the first optical radiation and determining whether a tip of the base structure is at the target location, and, if so, releasing a substance into or near the target location.

  • Patent number: 11954014
Abstract: An automated system is presented for unit testing an application in a mainframe execution environment. A plurality of stub objects reside in the mainframe execution environment, such that each stub object in the plurality of stub objects represents a different stub type. A command translator table is configured with an entry for each command available for an online transaction processor. Each entry in the command translator table specifies a stub type for the command and includes a listing of possible arguments associated with the given command, such that each possible argument in the listing of possible arguments has a specified category type. A test configurator executes in the mainframe execution environment and is configured to receive and parse a test input file. A setup routine interacts with the test configurator to receive records from the test input file.

  • Publication number: 20230172608
Abstract: The invention concerns delivering paired magnetic anastomosis devices to either side of tissues to be joined. The magnetic anastomosis devices are coupled to a guide element that facilitates delivery and manipulation of the devices when using minimally-invasive techniques such as endoscopy and laparoscopy. Elongated manipulators and guide tubes ae also disclosed that improve a user's dexterity with the devices during placement.

  • Patent number: 11576866
Abstract: The invention provides gastric residence systems for administration of adamantane-class drugs or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, such as memantine or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, and methods for making and using such systems. The systems provide extended release of drug, reducing the frequency with which the drug must be administered to the patient. The gastric residence systems, or components of gastric residence system such as segments or elongate members of gastric residence systems, can have release rate-modulating films, which provide good control over release of adamantane-class drugs or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof present in the gastric residence system. Some embodiments of the films can provide resistance against burst release of adamantane-class drugs or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof upon exposure to alcohol.
