  • Patent number: 6291356
Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to a method for plasma etching a semiconductor film stack. The film stack includes at least one layer comprising silicon oxynitride. The method includes etching the silicon oxynitride-comprising layer using an etchant gas mixture comprising chlorine and at least one compound containing fluorine and carbon. The atomic ratio of fluorine to chlorine in the etchant gas ranges between about 3:1 and about 0.01:1; preferably, between about 0.5:1 and about 0.01:1; most preferably, between about 0.25:1 and about 0.1:1. The etchant gas forms a fluorine-comprising polymer or species which deposits on exposed surfaces adjacent to the silicon oxynitride-comprising layer in an amount sufficient to reduce the etch rate of an adjacent material (such as a photoresist) while permitting the etching of the silicon oxynitride-comprising layer.

  • Patent number: 6094163
Abstract: Transfer/in-flight alignment technique using a Doppler velocity sensor. An aircraft navigation system (10 and/or 20), a Doppler velocity sensor (50) and an alignment filter (45) are used to align the inertial navigation system (4) of a slave vehicle. The velocity (and/or position) of the aircraft navigation system, the velocity (and/or position) of the slave vehicle's inertial navigation system (40) and the velocity measurement of a Doppler velocity sensor (50) are used to generate the measurements of the alignment filter (45). The DVS and aircraft navigation system are used simultaneously to align the inertial navigation system of the slave vehicle. A GPS receiver (60) with a GPS antenna (70), a Doppler velocity sensor (50) and an alignment filer (46) are used to align the inertial navigation system (40) of a flight vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5740599
Abstract: A method of making a cleaning scrubber comprising a step of preparing an elastic and reticulate tube, which is fitted over a locating set of a molding tool such that the tube is forced to expand and that the periphery of the tube is pleated. The expanded and pleated tube is then fastened with two resilient cords such that two fastened areas are opposite in location to each other and that two resilient cords form a ring located between the inner and the outer sides of the tube. Finally, the tube is removed from the molding foot and released to allow the periphery of the tube to expand along the cords serving as axes, so as to form a spherical cleaning scrubber.

  • Patent number: 5660597
Abstract: A portable, compact, self-contained child pacifying device is disclosed for use with infant support structures. The device may be attached to such infant support structures through attachment means allowing ready attachment and removal of the pacifying device. The attachment means may include projecting tabs or a pivotable retaining arm located proximate a vibration dampening means. A biasing means retains the attachment means and the pacifying device in position. The device comprises an integral outer case structure within which a battery powered vibratory source is mounted to produce a vibrating motion. The outer case structure attaches to the child carrier through a mounting arrangement fixedly attached to the exterior of the case structure and attachable to the infant support structure.

  • Patent number: 5013908
Abstract: A fiber optic detection system comprising an array of fiber optic elements is presented. Each fiber optic element is uniquely encoded using a plurality of discrete ferquencies, digital codes or other encoding techniques. When a break occurs in one or more fiber optic elements, the missing light frequencies or digital codes are sensed, thereby indicating the break. Preferably, the fiber optic elements are arranged in a grid pattern so that precise location of the break can be made.
