Abstract: An apparatus and method for processing a call in a mobile communication system are provided. In the apparatus and method for processing a call in the mobile communication system, a base station sector at which a mobile station is located and a neighboring base station sector are designated as one call receiving zone when a mobile station transitions from a traffic state to a dormant state and paging is performed to a call receiving zone which is first designated when a call is received to the mobile station.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for managing bad blocks generated while a flash memory is being used. A method for managing a bad block in a flash memory includes (a) allocating a used area having a plurality of used blocks and a spare area having a plurality of spare blocks in the flash memory, and providing a block map page group including a plurality of block map pages in which mapping information to map a bad block generated in either of the used area or the spare block to a spare block, (b) having mapping information of the block map page reside among the block map page groups in the memory, and (c) mapping the bad block generated during a flash operation to an unused spare block found through the mapping information, updating the mapping information, and recording the updated mapping information on the block map page.

Abstract: Disclosed is a paper holding device for a label printer. The paper holding device comprises left and right holders for supporting both ends, respectively, of a paper roll; left and right guide links respectively locked to lower ends of the left and right holders; a rotation link for operatively connecting the left and right guide links with each other and moving them in leftward and rightward directions; a bottom panel secured with respect to a floor of a printer body, for rotatably installing thereon the rotation link; and a pair of elastic members having one ends connected to the left and right guide links and the other ends connected to the bottom panel, to apply elastic force to the left and right guide links.

The paper guide device comprises left and right guide members defined, on one side surfaces thereof facing each other, with guide grooves which receive and guide both widthwise edges of paper, and formed, on respective rear and front surfaces thereof, with flat geared portions; left and right gear bands formed, on respective front and rear surfaces thereof, with rack gears which are respectively meshed with the flat geared portions of the left and right guide members; a pinion gear positioned between the left and right-gear bands and meshed with the rack gears of them; and an adjustment knob slidably installed on a printer body and connected to one end of the right gear band.
