Publication number: 20180183840Abstract: A system and method for screen mirroring and casting using a near field communication connection to initialize a wireless connection between a client device and a server device. The client device is initially placed in proximity of a near field communication antenna connected to the server device. This proximity triggers the establishing of a near field communication connection, through which setup parameters for a wireless connection are sent, by the server device, to the client device. The wireless connection is then established and used to send video data to the server device, which displays the corresponding video images on a display. The server device may also send user input data to the client device.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 12, 2017Publication date: June 28, 2018Inventor: Janghwan Lee

Publication number: 20160196579Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for dynamically providing deep links based on user activity. In one implementation, a processing device determines that an initial deep link is included in publisher digital content to be provided to a user by a publisher. The initial deep link specifies an item. The processing device determine a subset of vendors, from a group of vendors, that provide vendor digital content that enables the user to purchase the item. The group of vendors has a relationship with a deep link provider. The processing device selects one of the subset of vendors based on a history of activity of the user accessing the vendor digital content of the subset of vendors and provides a user-based deep link for the publisher digital content. The user-based deep link directs the user to the vendor digital content of the selected vendor.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 5, 2015Publication date: July 7, 2016Inventors: Paul Koura, Jacob Chapman, Janghwan Lee

Patent number: 8059211Abstract: A system and/or method that reduces the blanking time between changing from one video channel to another video channel, particularly from a digital video channel. The system provides as much video of the old video channel as possible for display until video from the new channel is acquired. Particularly, video output signal from the old channel which is stored in a video packet buffer is provided until the video packet buffer is underflowed (underflow condition or event). This is accomplished while the system is acquiring the new video channel (i.e. the selector in the case of an analog or different frequency digital video channel, or a PID filter of an MPEG transport stream decoder thereof in the case of a digital video subchannel of the old digital video channel). Blanking of the video output may or may not be accomplished if the new video is acquired before an video packet buffer underflow condition or event, else blanking may occur for only a short period of time. This can save about 400-500 ms.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2005Date of Patent: November 15, 2011Assignee: Thomson LicensingInventor: Janghwan Lee
