Abstract: A hand-held text input device includes a game controller and a keyboard. The device comfortably accommodates the hands of a user while the thumbs and fingers are associated with actuators of the game controller and keys of the keyboard. The overall configuration of the device and the arrangement of the actuators and keys permit the user to operate all of the functions provided by the device while the forearms are in a neutral posture zone between pronation and supination of the forearm, while the wrists are minimally extended, and while the fingers are comfortably flexed.

Abstract: A text input device for videogame controller may comprise a text input device housing comprising a keypad. The text input device housing forms a friction-fitting cavity for engaging the videogame controller. An electrical interface plug can be disposed inside the friction-fitting cavity, and can engage with a socket on the videogame controller when the text input device is engaged. The electrical interface plug transmits electrical signals to and from the videogame controller.
