  • Publication number: 20070274301
Abstract: A method and system of providing an unambiguous connection between a first user equipment and a second user equipment in a combination of a circuit switched call and a packet switched multimedia session. The method comprises to construct an equipment identifier by a first user equipment, wherein the equipment identifier distinguishes the first user equipment from any other user equipment of a same user and comprises a uniform resource name. Further, the first user equipment is registered in a session control protocol environment by sending the equipment identifier to a session control protocol registrar. In addition, a uniform resource identifier is returned by the session control protocol registrar, wherein the uniform resource identifier routes to a session control protocol application, and wherein the uniform resource identifier includes the equipment identifier as an opaque parameter. Finally, the opaque parameter is advertised by the first user equipment in a circuit switched call.

  • Publication number: 20070250569
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, system, client device, conference server device and computer program product of controlling media composition in a multi-party conversation involving a central control point (50). At a participant (10) of said multi-party conversation, a scope information (SoM) which specifies members of said multi-party conversation is selected and added to a session modifying request. The session modifying request is transmitted to the central control point (50) which initiates a media modification at the specified members in response to the scope information (SoM). Thereby, a client can control whether media modification is applied to the whole conference, selected participants or only between the client itself and the conference server.

  • Publication number: 20070156908
Abstract: A network entity, method and computer program product are provided for effectuating a conference session. The method includes receiving a plurality of audio measurements representative of audio levels adjacent respective participants of the conference session. At least one of the audio measurements can be received from a proximity network including a plurality of participants at one of the remote locations, the audio measurement having been identified as the highest audio measurement of the respective proximity network. After receiving the audio measurement, the audio measurements can be compared to identify the highest session measurement such that the participant associated with the highest session measurement is identified as a speaking participant, the identity being transferred to at least some of the participants of the conference session. A network entity, method and computer program product are also provided for presenting the identity of the speaking participant.

  • Publication number: 20060018272
Abstract: The invention proposes a method for routing sessions in a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) used in a communication system, comprising the step of using a Globally Routable User Agent Uniform Resource Identifier (GRUU) for identifying the instance, wherein the Globally Routable User Agent Uniform Resource Identifier (GRUU) is related to a serving network control element of the instance. By this GRUU, a user equipment can be uniquely identified and a session can reliably be routed via the serving network control element such as an S-CSCF to the user equipment.

  • Publication number: 20050243746
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for inspecting a session in a packet data network, wherein a set-up message is selectively routed to a predetermined server node (4001, 4002) and processed there. A media resource function (3021, 3022) is controlled based on the processing so as to bind incoming and outgoing data streams in order to relay the session via the media resource function. Thereby, a mechanism for providing charging, filtering and logging services for sessions, such as peer-to-peer chat sessions, is provided without requiring any new network entity or modification of existing network specifications.

  • Publication number: 20050083909
Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for establishing circuit-switched (CS) communications in packet-switched (PS) multimedia networks such as IMS, and providing services via the PS networks to CS domain users. A dialog is established between terminals through the PS multimedia network. A service is provided to at least one of the terminals by way of the dialog. CS bearer information, including an indication that a communication flow is requested via a CS network, is communicated between the terminals by way of the dialog. A communication flow via the CS network is effected between the terminals as directed by the CS bearer information. IMS or other PS multimedia network services can thus be provided to users otherwise communicating via the CS-domain.

  • Publication number: 20050058125
Abstract: A mechanism for providing a connection from an IP-based network to a circuit-switched network, such as a GSM network is disclosed. A temporary routing number for the circuit-switched network, such as an E.164 number, is delivered to a user terminal, and a circuit-switched call leg is established from the user terminal to the IP-based network using the routing number. Thereby, IMS-services are provided for end users which are located in the radio access network not having sufficient QoS required for voice over IP. In the example of a conference call service, a request for a conference call may forwarded via a data channel or data path to an application server which provides that conference call service. The application server then selects a conference routing number and returns the routing number to the conference host terminal via the data channel. Using the received conference routing number, the conference host terminal can then set up a circuit-switched connection as a call leg of the conference call.

  • Publication number: 20040190498
Abstract: A method, system and gateway device enables interworking between an IP-based network and a circuit-switched network. A first address information of a first connection end located in the circuit-switched network is routed in a trigger message from the IP-based network to a gateway control function. The first and second call legs are established in parallel towards the first connection end based on the first address information, and towards a second connection end located in the IP-based network based on a second address information obtained from the trigger message. A single connection between the two connection ends is then established by connecting the first and second call legs. Thereby, IP-based signaling functionality can be used to add capability for subscribers located in the CS domain to be invited into conferences or calls with subscribers located in an IP-based domain, e.g. the IMS domain.

  • Publication number: 20020120729
Abstract: The invention proposes a network system comprising a service control device (SEM); and at least one application execution device (AEE); wherein the service control device (SEM) is adapted to receive a service request, to select an appropriate application execution device according to the service request, and to invoke the selected application execution device, and wherein the application execution device (AEE) is adapted to perform the service requested by the service request. The invention also proposes a corresponding network control method. According to the invention, a flexible service architecture is possible.

  • Publication number: 20020120746
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for providing a service in a communication network. A service script is used to control a service execution functional unit to execute the service, wherein an execution priority is allocated to the service script based on the kind of service. Furthermore, a service logic of the service may be provided at a service execution functional unit, and the service script may comprise a service description of the service. The service execution functional unit is then controlled based on the service description to execute the service by using the service logic. Thus, the service script does not contain the service logic, and a flexible service script concept can be provided. Moreover, the signaling traffic can be reduced since the operator does not have to update service scripts for a large amount of subscribers.
