Publication number: 20240127012Abstract: A delivery portal, which may be at a loading dock, includes a sensor configured to detect a pallet, platform or stack of goods as it passes through the portal. A computer is programmed to receive information from the sensor and to identify the pallet based upon the information. The computer is further programmed to compare the identified pallet to a database to determine if the identified pallet should be passing through the portal. For example, the computer determines whether the pallet is being loaded onto the wrong truck or onto the right truck but in the wrong sequence. The sensor for detecting the pallet may be an RFID sensor reading an RFID tag on the pallets. The portal may be a loading dock. The database may indicate a sequence for loading a plurality of pallets including the identified pallet onto a truck at the loading dock.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 26, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Inventors: Peter Douglas Jackson, Jason Crawford Miller, Hisham Khalid A. Alshmmasi, Matthew Smith

Publication number: 20240059338Abstract: A pallet sled includes a pair of tines extending forward from a base. A load wheel supports each of the pair of tines. The load wheels are each configured to move away from the respective tine to lift the respective tine upward relative to a support surface on which the load wheel is supported. A processor on the pallet sled records usage of the sled, such as lift cycles, location over time, battery condition, lift height, weight lifted, distance traveled, and the like. A communication circuit may be configured to send data from the pallet sled to a remote server. An identification reader may be configured to read an identification tag of an object supported on the pair of tines, such as an rfid tag on a pallet.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 1, 2023Publication date: February 22, 2024Inventors: Robert Lee Martin, Jason Crawford Miller, Dane Gin Mun Kalinowski

Publication number: 20230388575Abstract: A device management server computer (“server”) has a media-only interface to a device and transmits a device identifier to the device over the interface, the device identifier having embedded network information sufficient to enable the device to establish a separate connection to the server over a communication link such as a wireless network. An application on the device retrieves the device identifier, extracts the network information, and uses the network information to establish the separate connection over the communication link. The device identifier can be part of an EDID provided over an HDMI interface. Instructions transmitted over the separate connection can be used to control transmission of media over the media-only interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 26, 2023Publication date: November 30, 2023Inventors: JASON CRAWFORD, SHOM SURENDRAN PONOTH, RAJKUMAR CHANDRASEKARAN, INDER PAUL BAJWA, PARIVALLAL GOPAL, TAMER ABUELSAAD, MARK HALL

Patent number: 11226948Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for index maintenance in a computer system comprising a plurality of nodes, a database, and an index to the database. In one embodiment, the method comprises, for a defined period of time, building a snapshot of selected change requests received by the nodes to change the database. After this defined period of time, a selection is made, based on specified criteria, whether to rebuild a new index to the database, or to add entries to a current index. When the selection is to rebuild a new index, the new index is rebuilt based on data in the database and in the change requests in the snapshot. When the selection is to add entries to a current index, entries are added to the current index based on data in the database and in the change requests in the snapshot.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2020Date of Patent: January 18, 2022Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Yuan-chi Chang, Jason Crawford, Liana L.
