  • Publication number: 20190163916
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to data integration and threat assessment for triggering analysis of connection oscillations in order to improve data and connection security. The invention leverages a security threat assessment engine and an analytics engine to gather and process data from a combination of internal and external data sources for a third party connection. The system continuously monitors and updates a generated threat level for a third party connection to determine changes or triggers indicating a potential security threat. In response to these determined changes or triggers, the system then responds to a detected security threat and minimizes damages resulting from data compromised by third party systems. Further, the system may extract and recover data from the third party systems and alter connection channels in order to further limit losses.

  • Publication number: 20190163915
Abstract: The invention utilizes a two-component system to detect third party security threats and drive improved security threat mitigation based on the detection. The first component of the system is a security threat assessment engine, which receives and/or identifies external data and internal data regarding third parties in order to determine information security threats posed by third parties. The second component of the system is an analytics engine, which may comprise a machine learning component which is configured to detect threat patterns and anomalies. In response to the detection of the threat patterns and anomalies the security threat assessment engine may be modified in order to more accurately determine security threats.

  • Publication number: 20190098887
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the collection of parasitic arthropods. In one specific example, the parasitic arthropod is a tick, which prefers to cling to the tops of foliage, while waiting for a passing host. The apparatus collects the tick. In one example the apparatus uses a suction force to collect the tick. In other examples, cloth designed to have a tick attach itself thereto is passed over a surface where ticks are believed to be present. In some cases the apparatus further comprises an irradiation apparatus. The irradiation apparatus exposes the ticks to a UVC radiation source, designed to disrupt both the life-cycle of the parasites, as well as to eliminate potential blood-borne pathogens that the ticks may be carrying. In one example, the blood-borne illness is Lyme disease.

  • Patent number: 10239669
Abstract: A reusable lid includes a main body, a spout portion, and a sealing member. The main body has a first surface. The spout portion extends outwardly from the first surface of the main body and has a second surface that is substantially parallel to the first surface and has an opening formed therein. The sealing member has a base portion, a cap portion with a third surface, and an intermediate portion disposed between the base portion and the cap portion. The sealing member is movable relative to the main body and the spout portion between a first orientation and a second orientation. In the first orientation, the cap portion engages the second surface to seal the opening and the third surface is substantially parallel to the first and second surfaces, and in the second orientation, the opening is unobstructed by the cap portion and the third surface is non-parallel to the first and second surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20190058440
Abstract: There is provided a cladding member (13) formed of a supporting body portion (67) having mounts (54) and a head portion (12), and an absorber surface portion (70) having a peripheral boundary wall (71) defining a recess into which a solar cell array (removed in this view for clarity) is bonded. The supporting (67) and absorber surface (70) body portions are pressure moulded from polyvinyl ester/glassfibre (30%)/fire retardant (40%)/pigment sheet moulding compound. Complementary bonding portions (72) form a glue line in assembly and have complementary water passages (73) defined therebetween. The bonding portions (72) contrive a generally sinusoidal glue space (74) that is longer that the transverse sectional dimension of the boding portions (72), cooperating with the adhesive system to resist water pressure in the passages (73).

  • Publication number: 20180054735
Abstract: A method of communicating and authenticating credentials between a portable computing device and multiple radio frequency identification (RFID) enabled readers requires a portable computing device, a RFID reader, and user credentials. The portable computing devices stores user credentials unique to the portable computing device and the RFID reader. The RFID reader activates a corresponding building access system. The method begins by inductively harvesting electrical power into the portable computing device from the RFID reader, if the portable computing device is proximal to the RFID reader. The method then sends the user credentials from a radio communication module of the portable computing device to a radio communication module of the RFID reader, if the electrical power is inductively harvested from the RFID reader into the portable computing device. An authentication process is then executed for the set of user credentials with the RFID reader.
