Patent number: 9327851Abstract: This application discloses a method of preparing an assembly. A base assembly is provided and includes a base, and a second fastener structure coupled to the base at a joint. The base assembly is then attached to a receiving element that is configured to physically receive a module and includes a first fastener structure, when the first fastener structure is fastened onto the second fastener structure until the first fastener structure reaches a tightened position. After the first fastener structure reaches the tightened position, the receiving element is rotated reversely at the first degree of freedom of motion by a first angle to orient the receiving element to a nominal position. At the nominal position, the receiving element and the module received thereby are configured to face substantially up when they are flipped down via the joint at the second degree of freedom of motion.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2015Date of Patent: May 3, 2016Assignee: GOOGLE INC.Inventors: Adam Scott Kilgore, Adam Duckworth Mittleman, Francois Rybarczyk, Jason Evans Goulden, Michael Joseph Solomon

Patent number: 9309012Abstract: This application discloses a method of preparing an assembly. A base assembly is provided and includes a base, and a second fastener structure coupled to the base at a joint. The base assembly is then attached to a receiving element that is configured to physically receive a module and includes a first fastener structure. The first fastener structure is fastened with the second fastener structure and provides a first degree of freedom of motion of the receiving element with respect to the base, and the movement of the receiving element is unlimited in a first direction of travel associated with the first degree of freedom of motion. The receiving element is rotated along the first direction of travel until the receiving element reaches a nominal position at which the receiving element and the module received thereby are configured to face substantially up when they are flipped down via the joint.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 2015Date of Patent: April 12, 2016Assignee: GOOGLE INC.Inventors: Adam Scott Kilgore, Adam Duckworth Mittleman, Francois Rybarczyk, Jason Evans Goulden, Michael Joseph Solomon

Patent number: 7299847Abstract: A fire door control system permits user input during regular use and during alarm conditions. The system utilizes primary and secondary power sources and incorporates a variety of preventive safeguards assuring that functionality of the fire door control system will not be lost. The system utilizes primary power when possible in all alarm conditions. However, during alarm conditions when primary power is lost or when a hand crank hoist remains dangerously engaged, the system is bumplessly connected to a secondary power source and a fire door of the system is closed with the aid of a clutch that directly connects the drive input with an axle that supports the fire door. The clutch pulses on and off to control the descent of the door. The system includes an electronic controller for coordinating the operation of elements of the system and for implementing a method of controlling a fire door system.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2003Date of Patent: November 27, 2007Assignee: Newco Electronics CorporationInventor: Rob Jason Evans
