  • Patent number: 11846358
Abstract: A rotary valve includes a rotary valve body defining a passageway from a first passageway port at an axial end surface of the rotary valve body to a second passageway port at an outer circumferential surface thereof. A valve housing has an inner surface defining each of an opening rotatably receiving the rotary valve body therein, a first housing port through which a fluid flows transverse to the axis of rotation of the rotary valve body, and a second housing port through which the fluid flows transverse to the axis of rotation of the rotary valve body. A flow path is formed between the inner surface of the valve housing and the outer surface of the rotary valve body with the flow path providing fluid communication between the first housing port of the valve housing and the first passageway port of the rotary valve housing.

  • Patent number: 11724325
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a brazing method for joining substrates, in particular where one of the substrates is difficult to wet with molten braze material. The method includes formation of a porous metal layer on a first substrate to assist wetting of the first substrate with a molten braze metal, which in turn permits joining of the first substrate with a second substrate via a braze metal later in an assembled brazed joint. Ceramic substrates can be particularly difficult to wet with molten braze metals, and the disclosed method can be used to join a ceramic substrate to another substrate. The brazed joint can be incorporated into a solid-oxide fuel cell, for example as a stack component thereof, in particular when the first substrate is a ceramic substrate and the joined substrate is a metallic substrate.

  • Patent number: 11484764
Abstract: A scoring system is disclosed for a shuffleboard table 2 having a sliding surface 4 on which a puck 6 can be thrown. A camera 26 is arranged to point in a direction 28 that is angled relative to the normal 30 of the sliding surface 4. A puck 6 can be thrown and a computer 32 can detect a moving object within a throwing zone 16. The computer 32 analyses whether the detected moving object corresponds to a valid puck. When all pucks are stationary on the sliding surface 4 the computer 32 can calculate a score.

  • Publication number: 20220228843
Abstract: A method performed on a computer system, for displaying video replay during a game of darts, comprising continually acquiring throughout the game, a video image of an oche from where a player throws darts towards a dartboard, detecting that a dart has been thrown by a player from the oche and is stationary on the dartboard, determining a trigger event based on the throw of the dart, automatically determining based on the trigger event whether to display a portion of the acquired video image captured between a first predetermined time before said detection and a second predetermined time after said detection, such that the portion of the acquired video image corresponds to the detected throw and displaying on a display the portion of the acquired video image.

  • Publication number: 20220167501
Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to a method of creating patterned metallic circuits (e.g., silver circuits) on a substrate (e.g., a ceramic substrate). A porous metal interlayer (e.g., porous nickel) is applied to the substrate to improve wetting and adhesion of the patterned metal circuit material to the substrate. The substrate is heated to a temperature sufficient to melt the patterned metal circuit material but not the porous metal interlayer. Spreading of molten metal circuit material on the substrate is controlled by the porous metal interlayer, which can itself be patterned, such as having a defined circuit pattern. Thick-film silver or other metal circuits can be custom designed in complicated shapes for high temperature/high power applications. The materials designated for the circuit design allows for a low-cost method of generating silver circuits other metal circuits on a ceramic substrate.

  • Patent number: 11281260
Abstract: The description relates to devices and device adjustment. One example can include a first portion that defines a cam pivot. The example can also include a height adjuster comprising a wedge and a positioning loop positioned over the cam pivot, such that rotation of a cam on the cam pivot to contact one cam follower of the positioning loop that moves the wedge toward another component or to contact an opposite cam follower of the positioning loop that moves the wedge away from the another component.

  • Patent number: 10317177
Abstract: A method is disclosed for automatically scoring a game of darts. The method involves obtaining an image of a dartboard (2) using three cameras (10), detecting a visual disturbance in the image, and identifying a validly thrown dart if the visual disturbance includes a moving phase with a maximum temporal duration and successive images of the dartboard which exhibit differences. The visual disturbance should also include a stationary phase when the dart has been embedded in the dartboard (2). The method also includes calculating a score for the validly thrown dart based on its stationary position relative to the dartboard. A lighting system for a dartboard is also disclosed where a LED strip light (14) is provided around a circumference of the dartboard and three spotlights (8) are provided above the dartboard.
