  • Patent number: 11374293
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for battery cells with positive polarity rigid containers. In accordance with disclosed embodiments, the cell may include a container and a lid piece that couple together to form a rectangular prismatic geometry. An electrode assembly having positive and negative coils may be disposed within the cell, and the positive coil may be conductively coupled to the cell. In this way, the cell (e.g., both the lid and the container) may be positively polarized. Further, the electrode assembly may incorporate a jelly-roll or a stacked structure. In one embodiment, the lid piece may include a vent that opens in response to pressure in the cell surpassing an established threshold. The lid may further include a positive terminal, negative terminal, and a method for filling the cell with electrolyte. Another embodiment may provide a battery module include multiple cells with positive polarity rigid containers.

  • Patent number: 11318951
Abstract: A monitoring system and method determine a consumption metric representative of one or more of an amount of fuel consumed or an amount of energy consumed by a vehicle during travel over a route. The consumption metric is independent of one or more of vehicle load or elevation change over the route. The system and method optionally can determine a route condition metric representative of a condition of a route traveled upon by a vehicle. The route condition metric is based on a comparison between an actual grade of the route at one or more locations along the route and an estimated grade of the route at the one or more locations.

  • Publication number: 20220127791
Abstract: The present invention provides an embossed multi-ply tissue product that is visually pleasing and has improved physical attributes. For example, the inventive multi-ply tissue products have reduced stiffness, such as a GM Flexural Rigidity less than about 600 mg*cm, improved absorbency, such as a Residual Water (WResidual) value less than about 0.15 g, and improved wet resiliency, such as a wet elastic strain ratio greater than about 32 percent.

  • Publication number: 20220129484
Abstract: A system hosts a file system representing a replica of file systems hosted on a plurality of nodes, each node storing data on a first storage medium. The system stores data on a second storage medium that is slower than the first storage medium. The system stores on the second storage medium a file received from one of the nodes when the file remains un-accessed by the nodes for a predetermined period of time. The first storage medium on the plurality of nodes stores a pointer to the file and not the data content of the file stored on the second storage medium. The system provides the file from the second storage medium to the first storage medium on one of the nodes while providing the plurality of nodes read and write access to the file stored on the second storage medium using the pointer on the first storage medium.

  • Publication number: 20220114274
Abstract: A first server computing device, including a processor configured to receive, from a first application instance, a first access request for a file. The first access request may include a first modification privilege request and a modification privilege sharing request. The processor may determine that the file is not locked for editing and grant the first application instance access to the file with modification privileges indicated by the first modification privilege request and without modification privilege sharing permissions indicated by the modification privilege sharing request. The processor may set the file to be locked for editing. The processor may receive, from a second application instance, a second access request including a second modification privilege request. The processor may determine that the file is locked for editing and deny the second application instance access to the file.

  • Patent number: 11260749
Abstract: Cooling control systems described herein detect decreased operation of a cooling system of a vehicle, restrict movement of the vehicle without stopping movement responsive to decreased operation of the cooling system, and restrict movement of the vehicle by preventing the vehicle from traveling at a speed and/or power output for a non-zero designated period of time. This can allow for the vehicle to continue moving for a temporary period of time to avoid blocking traffic. Other control systems determine predicted distances and/or times that the vehicle can continue moving before coolant in the cooling system decreases below a designated threshold. Movement of the vehicle can be changed responsive to an upcoming distance and/or time that the vehicle is to travel exceeding the predicted distance and/or time. Other control systems modify a coolant flow rate based on differences between designated and ambient conditions.
