  • Patent number: 10033793
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for monitoring a portable device are disclosed herein. An example method includes connecting to a portable device using a shell. Whether the shell has an elevated privilege on the portable device is verified. In response to detecting that the shell does not have the elevated privilege, the elevated privilege is gained. A packet capturer is installed on the portable device using the elevated privilege, the packet capturer to capture packets to produce media exposure data, the elevated privileges to enable the packet capturer to capture packets after disconnection of the shell from the portable device.

  • Patent number: 10032121
Abstract: A method of implementing a procedure in one or more organizations includes storing content messages relating to procedures (such as best practices). A procedure to be performed by one or more responsible persons is identified. A workflow timeline for the procedure is generated. The workflow timeline includes actions for the procedure, a sequence for the actions, and responsible persons assigned to the actions. An activation for the workflow timeline is received from a timeline initiator. Times or due dates for performing actions on the workflow timeline, a responsible person to perform at least one of the actions, and content messages for at least one of the actions are automatically determined. The content messages provide information relating to the procedure. Content messages for one or more of the actions are automatically sent to the responsible person determined for the one or more actions.

Abstract: An example adjustable product display apparatus is provided that includes a body configured to be mounted to a shelf. The body includes a proximal end, a distal end, a bottom surface extending between the proximal end and the distal end, and a top surface extending between the proximal end and the distal end at an angle relative to the bottom surface. The top surface is configured to support one or more products thereon. A distance between the bottom surface and the top surface increases from the proximal end to the distal and the distance at the distal end of the body defining a rear height of the body. The adjustable product display apparatus includes an expandable support disposed at the distal end of the body. Adjustment of the expandable support varies a height of the expandable support and simultaneously adjusts the rear height of the body.

  • Publication number: 20180202037
Abstract: Certain example embodiments relate to silver nano-metal mesh inclusive electrodes, and/or methods of making the same. The techniques described herein may be used, for example, in projected capacitive touch panels, display devices, and/or the like. Purposeful de-wetting of physical vapor deposited (PVD) silver (e.g., sputter deposited silver) is used to create the mesh. The properties of the mesh can be controlled through heat treatment, changes to the base layer composition (e.g., using materials with different surface energies, or adjusting surface energies), the creation of non-Ag PVD or otherwise formed islands that act as nodes for the film to attach itself to during the de-wetting process, and/or the like.

  • Publication number: 20180201312
Abstract: A vehicle steering system includes a steer detection apparatus configured to detect a steered position of a steer wheel assembly relative to a steer axle. The steered position corresponds to a direction of turn of a vehicle. A brake actuator is configured to actuate a braking system of the vehicle, and the braking system is configured to brake a first drive wheel assembly independently from a second drive wheel assembly mounted to a drive axle. The first drive wheel assembly is located on a side of the vehicle corresponding to the direction of turn. The system further includes a linkage assembly operatively coupling the steer detection apparatus to the brake actuator. In response to the steered position detected by the steer detection apparatus, the brake actuator actuates the braking system to brake the first drive wheel assembly.

  • Publication number: 20180200099
Abstract: A forefoot orthotic device has multiple regions configured so that impact, propulsive or standing forces experienced by the forefoot of the user are accelerated, decelerated, shifted, transferred, or lessened, so as to promote pain reduction or otherwise address or treat conditions of the forefoot. In one implementation, the device includes expanded areas adapted to underlie the first and fifth metatarsal heads and cushion or offload forces therefrom. In still other variations, the device includes a plateau and regions adjacent the plateau and sloping downwardly therefrom, so that the time during which painful regions of the forefoot experience force, such as during gait or standing, is lessened in favor of transferring such forces to adjacent regions which potentially are less in need of treatment or protection from such forces.

  • Publication number: 20180203899
Abstract: A system for query optimization by a federation engine is provided. When a data source supports a target feature of an expression of a query in the common query language, the system executes a converter for the data source to convert the target feature to the corresponding feature of the data source query language. The system then submits to the data source a query with the expression with the converted target feature so that the expression is evaluated at the data source and receives query results. When a data source does not support the target feature of the expression, the system submits to the data source a query without the expression and evaluates the expression on the query results returned by the data source. The system then combines the query results based on the evaluation of the expression as the query results of the query.

  • Publication number: 20180203826
Abstract: A system and method for generating web page layouts is presented. A computer server is configured to retrieve blocks of text for a web page. Each block of text is rendered into columns of text. A presentation score is calculated for each column of text. Populated web page layouts are generated for each web page layout in a plurality of web page layouts by determining a number of columns in the web page layout, for each block of text, positioning a rectangle having the same width and height as one of the plurality of columns of text for each block of text into a column in the web page layout to generate a populated web page layout, and calculating, without user input, a rendering score for the populated web page layout. One of the populated web page layouts is used to render a web page.

  • Publication number: 20180203968
Abstract: According to one or more embodiments, a method for adding parity protection for any uncovered latches of a circuit design is provided. The method includes determining latches that are not covered by current parity protection of the circuit design to output a list of the uncovered latches. The method includes executing a clustering operation that iteratively generates latch groupings according to physical design information and clock gating domains, and that outputs an updated design incorporating the latch groupings. Note that each latch grouping generates a corresponding parity bit to provide the parity protection to minimize adverse impacts on timing, routing, and power consumption of the circuit design. The method also includes adding the updated design with the parity protection to the circuit design to generate a final hardware design.
