  • Publication number: 20140149874
Abstract: Information content is managed in a network-based communication system by providing a first web-based interface accessible to a first user, the first web-based interface being configured to permit the first user to designate at least one data source that is external to the first web-based interface, maintaining persistent information content on behalf of the first user including content obtained from the data source designated by the first user, and generating a second web-based interface different than the first web-based interface, wherein access to at least a portion of the persistent information content is provided to each of one or more additional users via the second web-based interface in a manner controlled by the first user via the first web-based interface to thereby facilitate interaction between the first and additional users. The first and second web-based interfaces may comprise respective content management and mobile web sites.

  • Patent number: 8713551
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for non-interruptively updating firmware on a redundant hardware controller. The apparatus includes a routing module, a receiving module, and a forwarding module. The routing module routes communications between a redundant hardware controller and a service processor associated with a flash update. The receiving module receives a flash command for the flash update from the service processor via a shared serial connection. The forwarding module forwards the flash command via a dedicated point to point connection to the redundant hardware controller configured to receive the flash command over the point to point connection. The apparatus, system, and method provide a non-interruptive overlay of the firmware image on a redundant hardware controller, minimizing system downtime and user intervention.

  • Patent number: 8707267
Abstract: A method, computer-readable medium, and apparatus for debugging a computer program utilizing breakpoints triggered by accessing a rarely used or unused I/O port is provided. Rarely used or unused I/O ports are identified in a computer system and a debugger program is instructed to halt program execution when an access is made to one or more of the identified ports. An instruction for writing to one of the ports is then inserted in the program to be debugged. When the instruction is executed, the debugger program will cause the execution of the program to stop. When the breakpoint is no longer needed, the debugger program is instructed not to halt when an access is made to the I/O port.

  • Publication number: 20140101548
Abstract: A media channel can include a mix of media items and invitational content packages. At some point during the playback of the media channel, an invitational content package can be presented. In response to detecting the occurrence of an interactive segment triggering event during the presentation of the invitational content package, an invitational content interactive segment and a next media item can be simultaneously presented. This can be accomplished by splitting the media channel into multiple streams, such as an audio stream and a visual stream, and presenting an element of the interactive segment within a first stream and an element of the media item within a second stream. To decrease the likelihood that a user may equate the invitational content with the media item, a bumper content item, such as audio that says, “now back to the music,” can be presented just prior to playback of the media item.

  • Publication number: 20140074959
Abstract: To generate a media station, a client device can receive a candidate media item playlist and media playback rules corresponding to the media station. When a new media item is needed for the media station, the client device can apply the media playback rules to a next media item in the list of candidate media items. The playback rules can be used to determine whether the next media item is currently eligible for playback. Additionally, the client device can receive a candidate invitational content item playlist and invitational content playback rules corresponding to the media station. In response to detecting an invitational content triggering action, the client device can apply the invitational content item rules to the candidate invitational content item playlist to select at least one invitational content item to present in the media stream.

  • Patent number: 8470614
Abstract: A dielectric deposition tool for forming a silicon dioxide layer on a wafer with a TEOS showerhead which delivers a flow rate per unit area from an edge band of the showerhead that is at least twice a flow rate per unit area from a central region of the showerhead. The edge band extends at least one half inch from an outer edge of the showerhead up to one fourth of the diameter of the wafer. A process of forming an integrated circuit by forming a silicon dioxide layer on a wafer containing the integrated circuit using the dielectric deposition tool. The silicon dioxide layer is thicker under the edge band than under the central region. A subsequent CMP operation reduces the thickness difference between the wafer outer annulus and the wafer core by at least half. The silicon dioxide layer has a compressive stress between 125 and 225 MPa.

  • Patent number: 8312144
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system are disclosed for exchanging services in a distributed system. A communication module receives an advertisement of service capabilities for a service provider. The communication module further receives a registration of service requirements for a service consumer. A match module determines if the advertisement service capabilities match the registration service requirements. A configuration module configures the service provider to supply the service requirements of the service consumer if the advertisement service capabilities match the registration service requirements. An establishment module establishes a service relationship between the service provider and the service consumer. The service provider provides the service requirements of the service consumer.

  • Patent number: 8291268
Abstract: A method to provide an alert notification and a reconcile action to a client computing system, the alert notification being responsive to an error condition in a target computing system, and the reconcile action being responsive to the alert notification, wherein the method supplies a client computing system and a target computing system, wherein the target computing system is in communication with the client computing system. The method further forms an alert notification responsive to an error condition detected in the target computing system, and generates a reconcile action responsive to the alert notification. The method provides the alert notification and the reconcile action to the client computing system. The client computing system returns a selected reconcile action, which is implemented by the target computing system, wherein that implementing step is performed without logging into said target computing system.

  • Publication number: 20120198261
Abstract: For controlling power sequence in a blade center environment, a relationship component module creates a topology of interdependent relationships of devices in the blade center environment. The devices include server blades, storage blades, and switch modules. A sequence module defines a sequence of the devices in the blade center environment to power off and on based on the topology of interdependent relationships. The sequence includes an order of a first independent blade server, each dependent storage blade of the first independent blade server, and a second independent blade server. A monitor component module monitors a command from an Advanced Management Module (AMM) to regulate power for the devices in the blade center environment. The AMM regulates power within the blade center. A validation module validates that the command does not violate the interdependent relationships and the sequence of devices or else blocks the command if the command is not validated.
