  • Patent number: 11796436
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to perform mechanical property testing are disclosed. An example testing device includes a computing device configured to obtain a measurement value related to the material or component under test. The computing device includes: a display device; an input device; a processor; and memory coupled to the processor to store computer readable instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: display, via the display device, a testing mode interface either directly or in response to selection of the testing mode interface at the first interface, the testing mode interface configured to enable selection of a predetermined test definition interface; and in response to selection of the predetermined test definition interface via the input device, display a test interface, the test interface comprising: inputs for a predetermined subset of configurable test parameters of the testing device; and activation of a mechanical property test.

  • Patent number: 11436637
Abstract: A system and method are directed towards providing non-requested content to a mobile terminal based on characteristics of, and tracked usage of the mobile terminal to request content through an online portal service, which provides access to content in multiple subject areas. A mobile user profile is created from the characteristics and patterns of the tracked usage. The tracked usage information includes the time, location, frequency at which the content was requested. Based on the mobile user profile information, content related to previously requested content is provided to the mobile terminal upon a trigger that is related to the requested content. The trigger event may include the mobile terminal returning to a location from which certain content was previously requested. The non-requested content may further be based on a related general user profile that indicates usage of an alternate electronic device to access content through the portal.

  • Publication number: 20170287012
Abstract: Described are methods, systems, and apparatus for customizing applications based on user behavior data. User behavior data is collected and stored by an ad system based on a user's interactions. The user behavior data is associated with an ad system user ID. A request for first user customization data including an application user ID associated with a user device is sent by an application executing on a user device. The ad system user ID associated with the application user ID is determined by the ad system. User customization data is determined by the ad system based on the user behavior data stored by the ad system as associated with the ad system user ID. The user customization data is sent to the user device. A customization based on the user customization data is implemented by the application executing on the user device.

  • Publication number: 20080077571
Abstract: Providing persisting search folders within a computer that continuously identify data items having metadata matching a query of search criteria. A query of search criteria formulated via a graphical user interface is applied to a search filter to create a search folder. When the search folder is made live, the search filter is used to search one or more data stores for data items having metadata matching the query of search criteria. Upon finding these data items, the search folder is populated with a link to each data item having metadata matching the query of search criteria. The search folder detects when any new data items are added to a data store and when a change occurs to any metadata of data items previously stored in a data store. Upon detection, the search folder store links to matching new or changed data items.

  • Publication number: 20060277271
Abstract: A system and method are directed towards prefetching content for a mobile terminal based on characteristics of, and tracked usage of the mobile terminal to request content through an online portal service, which provides access to content in multiple subject areas. A mobile user profile is created from the characteristics and patterns of the tracked usage. The tracked usage information includes the time, location, frequency at which the content was requested. Based on the mobile user profile information, content similar to previously requested content is prefetched and cached in anticipation of the mobile terminal making a similar request. Prefetching may also occur based on a trigger event such as the mobile terminal returning to a location from which certain content was previously requested. Prefetching may further be based on a related general user profile that indicates usage of an alternate electronic device to access content through the portal.

  • Publication number: 20060274869
Abstract: A system, apparatus, and method is directed to dynamically generating content on the fly based on at least one characteristic of a computing device requesting the content, including a characteristic of a network connection. The invention may receive information from a variety of sources, including a manufacturer of the computing device, a header sent by the computing device, and specific test results performed on computing devices similar to the requesting computing device. The information may include screen size, screen resolution, memory size, browser capabilities, applications supported, and so forth. The network connection information may include bandwidth, delays, degradation, connection type, and so forth. The information may be combined to determine an overall device profile. When a request for content is made, the server may employ the device profile to dynamically format the content and provide it optimized for the computing device.
