    Abstract: A flap arrangement 10 for a turbine 2 of an exhaust-gas turbocharger 2, is disclosed, in particular for a wastegate valve of the turbine, having a spindle 100 for rotatable mounting of the flap arrangement 10 in a turbine housing 3, a lever arm 200 coupled to the spindle 100, and a flap plate 300 coupled to the lever arm 200. The flap plate 300 has a flexible part 330 in a radially outer region of the flap plate 300, such that by applying a closing force to the flap arrangement 10 when the flap plate 300 is in contact with a flap seat 500 in the turbine housing 3, elastic and/or plastic deformation of the flexible part 330 of the flap plate 300 can be caused to compensate for thermal deformation of the turbine housing 3, exhaust deposits and/or wear.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for infiltrating porous ceramic matrix composite (CMC) preforms to form CMC articles are disclosed. One method may include positioning the porous CMC preform in an opening of a die set for an infiltration system, and flowing a molten densifier over the porous CMC preform in a first flow direction to infiltrate a plurality of voids formed between each of a plurality of ply stacks of the CMC preform. The method may also include flowing the molten densifier over the porous CMC preform in a second flow direction, distinct from the first flow direction, to infiltrate the plurality of voids formed between each of the plurality of ply stacks of the CMC preform. The second flow direction may be substantially parallel to a predetermined, unidirectional material orientation of at least one ply stack of the plurality of ply stacks of the CMC preform.

A control subsystem receives landing pad sensor data from the one or more landing pad sensors and receives, from a first AV traveling to a location of the plurality of landing pads, a request for an assigned landing pad in which the first AV should park. In response to this request, the control subsystem determines, based on the received landing pad sensor data, whether a first landing pad is free of obstructions that would prevent receipt of the first AV. If the first landing pad is free of obstructions, an indication is provided to the AV that the first landing pad is the assigned landing pad.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the microwave amplification system are described. In an embodiment, a microwave amplification system includes a microwave amplifier that contains a paramagnetic material with an impurity. The impurity has a plurality of nuclear spin and electron spin-based energy levels. The system includes an input to receive a pumping signal which is transmitted to the microwave amplifier to cause a population inversion in the impurity and excite it to one of the nuclear spin and electron spin-based energy levels. The system further includes another input to receive an input signal to be amplified by the microwave amplifier, the input signal having a lower power than the pumping signal. Once transmitted to the microwave amplifier, the input signal is amplified by the excited state of the impurity in the microwave amplifier thereby generating an amplified signal.
