    Abstract: A mount for attaching a projection device to an overhead structure includes a device interface operably attachable to the projection device with a plurality of fasteners. The device interface has a first portion and a second portion slidably disposed on the first portion. The first and second portions together define a plurality of retaining structures, each retaining structure for receiving a separate one of the plurality of fasteners. The second portion is selectively slidably shiftable relative to the first portion between a first latched position wherein each of the plurality of fasteners is received and retained in a separate one of the retaining structures and a second unlatched position wherein the plurality of fasteners is freely disengagable from the retaining structures.

The semi-spherical shell is guided between the first and second bearing portions so that the flat panel display and device interface are generally rotatable about the center of the radius of curvature of the semi-spherical shell.

    Abstract: A self-balancing adjustable mounting system for a flat panel display. A display interface having a hollow, frusto-spherical shell portion is attached to the flat panel display. The display interface is received in a guide structure that has a bearing portion engaging the outer surface of the frusto-spherical shell, and a second bearing portion engaging the inner surface of the frusto-spherical shell. The frusto-spherical shell is guided between the first and second bearing portions so that the flat panel display and device interface are generally rotatable about the center of the radius of curvature of the semi-spherical shell. A friction adjustment mechanism enables selective adjustment of the amount of friction between the first and second bearing portions and the frusto-spherical shell so as to enable the flat panel display to be fixed in a position to inhibit undesired movement of the display due to contact or other cause.

The fastening buttons are spaced apart and positioned correspondingly with the notches of the first bracket so that the slot of each fastening button receives the periphery of the first bracket at a separate one of the notches when the second bracket is received on the first bracket.

    Abstract: An adjustable, folding mount for attaching a flat panel display to a fixed structure. The mount includes a portion adapted to attach to an element of a fixed structure, and a swing arm operably coupled thereto. The swing arm is selectively positionable along a path of travel between a folded position proximate the fixed structure and an extended position wherein the swing arm depends downwardly from the fixed structure. A device interface portion operably couples the other end of the swing arm and the flat panel display. The mount includes friction means arranged to apply a first frictional resistance force opposing positioning of the swing arm toward the extended position, and a second frictional resistance force opposing positioning of the arm toward the folded position, the first frictional resistance force being greater than the second frictional resistance force.

The device orientation adjustment structure has structure defining up to three independent axes for adjustment of projector pitch, roll, and yaw. A single selectively adjustable friction element may be provided to enable projector position to be fixed about for any one or all of the independent axes. A gear adjustment mechanism may be provided to enable fine adjustment of projector position. Moreover, any one or all of the independent axes may pass through the projector device, preferably proximate its center of gravity so that it is self balanced on the mount to ease adjustment.
