Abstract: A touch screen controller includes input circuitry receiving touch data from the touch screen. Processing circuitry acquires touch data from the input circuitry in a self-capacitance sensing mode, locates a force island and locates a sense island. A length of the force island and a length of the sense island is calculated. If the length of the force island is greater than a threshold force length and if the length of the sense island is greater than a threshold sense length, then the product of the lengths is calculated, and if greater than a threshold size, designated a valid area. Touch data in the valid area is then acquired in mutual-capacitance sensing mode, and represents palm touch if a maximum strength value in the valid area is less than a maximum area threshold and if a minimum strength value in the valid area is greater than a minimum area threshold.

Abstract: A capacitive panel is scanned with an AC signal having pulses at a first frequency to produce a first frame of mutual capacitance data and pulses at a second frequency, different from the first frequency, to produce a second frame of mutual capacitance data. If neither the first nor second frames of mutual capacitance data is perturbed by noise, then data of the first and second frames of mutual capacitance data is averaged. The averaged data is then used in centroid processing.

Abstract: A data frame in a touch capacitive sensing circuit includes both mutual capacitance data and self capacitance data. The mutual capacitance data and self capacitance data of the frame are filtered to define mutual capacitance and self capacitance islands. Centroids of the mutual capacitance and self capacitance islands are calculated and then processed in a weighted mixing operation to produce a hybrid centroid that more accurately locates the coordinates of a detected touch/hover.

The client computer may be configured to determine an operational state of the server computers and determine a protection status of the client computer resulting from use of a server computer of a particular operational state. The protection status may have one of at least three levels and indicate vulnerability of the client computer. The client computer may determine the operational state of a server computer based on available bandwidth for network communication between the client computer and the server computer. Abstract: An integrated network element management system includes a client computer (6) and a master network element (7). The client computer includes a user interface (61) and an application (62). Various network elements may be displayed on the user interface in the form of icons that can be dragged by a user. The application performs configuration on a specific network element selected by the user on the user interface. The master network element communicatively connects with the client computer and a plurality of network elements. The master network element includes a topology information module for collecting topology information via the Topology Discovery Protocol, and for storing the topology information and configuration files of the network elements. A related integrated network element management method is also provided.

Abstract: An implementation framework, including methodologies and the architecture, for a real-time traffic emulation for packet switched networks. The framework uses extended finite state machines to model the traffic flows that are to be emulated. A simple yet flexible FMS-based scripting language is proposed to describe these flows. An event-driven approach to schedule CPU among flows is also adopted.
